Winner of Peacehaven/Lewes will be nice in the Semi? Then Bognor at the Amex anyone?

Whipping Brighton in their own back yard seems quite appealing too to be fair. But right now I don't think we should fear anyone, bring any of them on

Well, having read the Horsham match report, it seems that we where fortunate to win again. Boxing Day was down to the referee and last night was down to a dubious penalty and an offside winner. How unfortunate. Still as the saying goes, the harder you try the luckier you get !!

That will do very nicely Virgs1 Must admit though having been to the Worthing v Brighton final at Eastbourne and the Worthing v Eastbourne Borough final at the Amex. I would like to go to Crawley for the final especially if its against Bognor because it would be a better atmosphere with us at one end and Bognor at the other. We get swallowed up at the Amex. Having said the above I just want to be in the final and win having been twice and lost, but this seems to be the year for repeating the events of 1999!!!!

How unfortunate. Still as the saying goes, the harder you try the luckier you get !! Didn't see the same match as me then. Worthing the better side from the start until Horshams rather lucky first goal. They then had a decent period and a great second goal. Second half the energy and tactics improved and Worthing had by far and away the better of the entire half, in tricky conditions they passed well and had bags of energy. We had a goal disalowed even though it was clearly over the line, and if not given as a goal then the defender who caught the ball should have been red carded and a penalty given, instead the ball was thrown out of the goal by the defender and kicked out for a throw in, ref and linesman had no idea what was going on. Dubious penalty, really? depends how far away the reporter was from the inicdent, looked nailed on to me. From then there only seemd one team in it, 2nd goal a decent team build up, good passing, third goal again came from some great build up, commitment and some lovely footwaork between Marvin and Meekums.

From where I was standing which was behind the goal, I wasn't convinced our effort went over the line. It was definitely handled though in the defenders efforts to clear. Premier League referee Tim Robinson seemed to point to the spot as if appearing to signal a penalty but didn't blow his whistle and then went to consult his linesman, who from 40 yards away, could not see anything wrong!! This controversy only seemed to spur the Rebels on more and every 50/50 decision from that moment on went our way!!

Unsurprisingly the two scheduled SSC games were also victims of the weather last night so we're no nearer knowing who we're facing next.

One of the other three teams is confirmed as Eastbourne Borough having beaten Crawley this week. Peacehaven and Lewes will try again on the 28th and having beaten Hillians this week BHA U23 will play Rocks on a date yet to be confirmed. Behind schedule but certainly a lot clearer than the Velocity Trophy!

Bognor Regis or Brighton will be our opponents. According to Sussex FA the semi finals are currently scheduled to be played at Culver Road on Wednesday 26th February and Tuesday 3rd March. Bognor v Brighton tie is due to be played on Tuesday 11th February.

If Brighton beat Bognor will Carl be permitted to play in the semi final?? I doubt it was written into the contract/registration and they couldn't claim they needed him for the game as presumably even at SSC level he'd be cup tied. That'd just leaves sheer churlish embuggerance as an option for them. I'd like to think a Premier League club would have a little more class than that but if they did a) shame on them and b) it'd show they're clearly scared of us
