It seems an age ago we went to the Withdean and beat AFC Varndeanians in the third round. But that win secured our place in the quarter finals and an away tie with Horsham at Hop Oast. Horsham reached the QF's thanks to a 3-1 away win at Newhaven in R2 and a penalty shootout win at Littlehampton in R3 after a late goal secured them a 1-1 draw. The full draw now shapes up like this... Peacehaven & Telscombe v Lewes Horsham v Worthing Crawley Town v Eastbourne Borough Bognor Regis Town v (BHA U23 or Burgess Hill) With The Rebels and The Hornets locked in a parallel struggle for promotion from the IPD the game arguably takes on an added significance. I say 'arguably' because the flip side could also be true, it could just as easily be argued that it makes this fixture even more of a sideshow than some consider it already is. It is what it is though, a fixture the clubs have to honour. The strength of the sides put out by both clubs will undoubtedly be reduced from the league campaigns so it'll be less a test of which is the better team than which squad has the greater depth. In that regard we must have an advantage. The 3-0 win on Boxing Day would also suggest we are in the ascendancy, but again how many of those 22 starting players will feature? I could do the usual league placing and form links but the 'squad rotation' factor will be such a variable as to make comparisons somewhat redundant. No, this fixture can't really be analysed too much because form will count for very little. It is a new ground to tick off and a relatively low pressure competition to be enjoyed on it's own merits. To that end the following is a link to the Horsham FC website section called 'how to find us' - LinkThat'll get you there, enjoy the game and what will be will be. Come on you Rebels!

Am looking forward to the game. If I was Hinsh tonight's line-up: (4-3-3) Rushworth, Stevens, Young, Jelley, Tutt, Marshall, Budd, Starkey, Pattenden, Meekums, Kealy.
Bench: Colbran, Parsons, Barker, Aguiar, Pearce.

I thought we only had him over the xmas period because Colchester U18s didn't have any games?

Not too shabby, well played lads.
Forgive my ignorance though please, some of the Worthing fans were very vocal tonight, what is the beef with Barry Hunter? What’s he done, or not done?

I'm not close enough to know the politics of it all, I'm just here for the football really, but I suspect it is the latter. I won't mention where it came from out of respect (because it has since been deleted) but there was a tweet earlier this evening akin to a 'missing person' poster. Make of that what you will.

From my understanding it is to do with comments that he made in relation to the supporters who went on the pitch at the end of the Bognor game. As well as the reason mentioned above. I must admit it took away from the fabulous 2nd half comeback slightly for me

Its a respect and communication issue, I won't go into details but I spoke to him after the game and will hope to have further chats to alleviate the issue. As mentioned above it shouldn't take away from the comeback.
Fantastic win, Culver Road here we come!

Thank goodness for your sensible approach Sam, a far better way to resolve an issue before it gets out of hand.

Credit where credit is due , I thought it was a fantastic performance last night in the second half , the pressing by the hole team was excellent . Horsham just couldn't keep up . Jasper didn't stop running and asking for the ball and I thought the young Stevens ? Lad showed what a good player he is . Well done to the whole team .
