Bognor game off at 9am, fears over Dennis not pitch conditions apparently. A number of other games as well. Weather forecast now worse!! I wonder if we will go the same way before Folkestone set off.

Peak wind and rain due around 3pm according to latest forecast. I would not like to try and play football safely in those conditions. Also everyones travel back will be hazardous to say the least. It really would make sense to postpone now rather than around kick off time. There is even a risk of half time call-off.

As well as Bognor, the games at Cheshunt, Casuals and Enfield have also gone.
None of these games will have been postponed due to conditions now but pre-emptively due to what is coming. Rocks aside those games aren't even getting the worst of it as they're comfortably inland.
If played right now it'd be fine, blustery but no great issue. As mentioned already the fear is that once it hits and conditions for football become farcical the game gets called off late or abandoned having started.
Should that happen my sympathies will be squarely with the travelling Invicta fans for whom that situation will have been entirely preventable with simple, sensible forward planning. They will have lost a day of travelling for nothing, in truly sh1tty conditions, despite everyone knowing this was coming.
And the real bugger of it all is that even if the game gets on and is finished it will be ruined as a spectacle. One crazy wind assisted goal could end up being the difference between one of these sides going up or staying down.
...and right on cue just as I finish, the rain arrives!

Can't help but think the club backed themselves into a corner by leaving it too late to make a common sense decision and work with the league to get the game postponed - as Enfield and others have done.
Lingfield who have a serious fixture backlog arranged for their home game to be played at Steyning on a 3G pitch today, but that was still called off taking travelling conditions into account. Both ourselves and Folkestone do not have a backlog so there was really no rush to get this fixture played today- surely it would have been better to play it towards the end of the season when it really could have been a "big" match.
The weather is going to render this match a lottery now and as such, the result may as well be decided on the pre-match coin toss, which could have been done by way of a conference call this afternoon to save everyone the bother!
Too many points to be won and lost between now and the end of the season for the result to make any real difference to final league placings so I am personally going to give this debacle a swerve.

Well what a let down that was. Despite having as much of the game as they did, we failed to really test their keeper once. Suddenly, scoring has become difficult. The difference was in the final third, although their goal did seem fortunate, looked like a deflection then in off the post. They also had 2 one on ones with Carl, neither which they scored. He (Rushworth) kept us in it with at least 2 outstanding stops, MoM for us again. Great turnout 1,410 in awful conditions. 3 points now a must at Lewes on Wednesday, considering their awful home record.

Gutted A draw would've been a worthy second best to a win and we nearly did it. In fairness we never really tested their keeper but Carl was needed more than once, one was a total worldie too. If you were neutral, which none of us are, you'd have to say they created more and thus them winning wasn't a travesty. I'll wait to see the highlights but I'm wondering if that goal merits an assist from Dennis. Carl got a very firm palm on it and first impressions were that on a day with no/low wind that ball goes wide or hangs there to be cleared. If so then we were the victims of my predicted wind assisted farce of a goal. I hope not because that just twists the knife. The crowd was unbelievable, to get 1,400+ to turn out in those conditions is nothing short of incredible. It begs the question what we would've got had the weather been good, pushing 2k is not fanciful. Down side regarding the crowd was the pyro and the inevitable mention in the referees report of whatever was passed to him by their keeper. Big problems could follow there. Three defeats in a week, all at home and all settled very late, can only be a psychological blow. But we can't dwell on things and must look forwards not backwards now. To that end we REALLY need Lewes to be on, a game against the worst side in the league is exactly what we need to get back on the horse. One win at home all season, one point secured from the last 18 available... we should offer to fund covering their pitch for them. IPD Table - Link
Onwards, come on you Rebels!

The Folkestone forum match thread - LinkAll rivalries aside they came in relatively decent numbers compared to most and I wish them a trouble free journey home... but a total hex on the rest of their season

Evening
A disappointing afternoon, thought Folkestone adjusted to the weather and looked the better side. Going forward we really lacked any threat. Thought Hunte had a good first half then tired obviously in the second. Rushworth again sensation that first half save was fantastic and thought Racine was solid too. Big few weeks coming up now starting on Wednesday at Lewes. Maybe we need to bring someone in up top as goals seems a problem.

Tough one to take but overall I think Folkestone just about edged it. Carl was superb and kept us in it with some excellent keeping whilst their keeper was largely untested despite us having plenty of possession in good areas. Fin was also superb today. Very hard to be over critical as the conditions were poor, I didn't think either side really got to grips with the weather. We look a little lightweight up front now with Callum leaving and we definitely missed Jesse today in the midfield. Excellent attendance today, just a shame it was marred by something being thrown at their keeper and the flare at the end, the last thing the club need is a fine for poor crowd behaviour.

Onwards, come on you Rebels! Why do we really need the Lewes game to be on? As Vertigate said we don’t have a backlog of fixtures so why play them this week after they have come off a weeks rest and having gained a great point at home against Hornchurch? Also surely playing them in March/April when there pitch is better would suit our passing game more than this Wednesday on a mudbath of a pitch.

Evening Adz, welcome aboard I know he had his knockers ( phnar phnar) but that game was crying out for Callum Kealey. Ollie is a great player for us but he doesn't have nearly the same 'stickability' when the ball is played up to him, more often than not he looks to go down ahead of standing strong and keeping possession. Lloyd is better but is no Callum, his retention percentages were the best we had. Callum isn't a goal getter himself but when he played team goals increase. Supposedly he's on a dual registration but if we can't have him for a top of the table clash when Sutton's game was called off in the early morning... then the duality isn't a fair balance. As Sutton don't have a game midweek if we aren't allowed to play him at Lewes then our piece of the registration is actually totally worthless.

Getting the win we need to arrest this run is all that matters right now. And I feel we stand a much better chance even on mud and even with a game more in our legs of getting that win at relegation threatened and relegation form Lewes than we do at mid table, mid table form Kingstonian. They could've turned their form right round under their new management in a month or two. Get it on, get it done and get this promotion bandwagon rolling again.

I was stood right behind it and to be fair if I was to celebrate a Worthing goal right in the middle of the home fans behind the goal I would expect somebody to take exception to it. There is emotion at every level of football especially right at the end of a very big match. Nearly resulted in some quite ugly scenes
