For anyone thinking of attending please be aware that, weather permitting, the Northern jinx is coming down!!!!!!!!!!!! Just wait until this fat old man retires at the end of the month and can start going to games home and away. I'm looking back at every away game that I have seen Worthing play. I honestly can't think of any that Worthing have won?? Last season Hampton was a draw. I recall Burgess Hill and Cray where we won neither. As a side note, Cray away, can't remember what year it was??? It was the first time I met and spoke to Kevin Golds. A great bloke who had time to stop and have a good chat with.

Cray away in the Isth 1 South play off was one of the most disappointing defeats I ever have seen; so many high hopes dashed. Did we ever win there, if so I can't recall it!

Hate to say it but given the original tie was called off for a soggy pitch... its forecast to rain solidly in Weston, by varying degrees from drizzle to double raindrops, from now until late morning on Tuesday!
Confidence being low I'm not therefore going to do a 're-preview'. The links on the opening post are 'live links' so everything is there to show the updated current data if you want it. All that needs refreshing is the list of the rest of the action...
All midweek games...
Monday Aveley v Welling United
Tuesday Hampton & Richmond Borough v Braintree Town Hemel Hempstead Town v Chippenham Town Maidstone United v Truro City Taunton Town v Slough Town Torquay United v Weymouth Weston-super-Mare v Worthing
Wednesday Bath City v Yeovil Town
With sincere apologies to Kenty, let's be honest. Given the action of the rail unions, the absence of any organised fan transport, the players having to drive themselves there, inevitable energy sapping and risky pitch conditions even if it did pass inspection, the number of back to back games we've had recently and the number of recently returning or currently unavailable players we need to nurse... kicking this long hard boggy midweek trip into next year wouldn't exactly be a terrible outcome.

Woodburn up front for last 10 mins, I’m still convinced Pook was told to loose that as we couldn’t afford promotion. The year after hurt more the godalming home defeat in ET. Would love it for once in the play off for us to win a game we are not favorites we have never won a play off game as underdogs

I remember going to the Cray away game in the 19/20 season and it was chucking it down that day! We took the lead in the 90th min, I think it was a Shola Ayoola goal and we still managed to blow that with a 96th min equaliser! Admittedly this game was played at Bromley FC bit still didn't break the duck...

We have only ever met Cray in away matches at Bromley...they're still waiting for their new ground to be completed.
We won 2-1 away to Cray in the FA Trophy in 2016 (match played on a Sunday because Bromley were at home the day before) and we won 2-1 there two seasons ago in our championship season.

For those traveling today I’ve just rung WSM and the club official told me that they’ve got people working on the pitch and ‘it’s all systems go for the game to go ahead’. No talk of a pitch inspection but that’s not to say a ref might see it differently as we’ve experienced before

No talk of a pitch inspection but that’s not to say a ref might see it differently as we’ve experienced before Personally, I would rather there was a confirmatory pitch inspection before committing to a 350-mile, 7-hour round-trip this evening. I remember the Dover club officials guaranteeing there was no need for a pitch inspection; getting there as the match ref called it off was irritating, but doing the same at Weston would be more than annoying!

Indeed, although unless it's an early inspection by the actual match referee we're always at the whim of individual opinion once he/she arrives at the ground. On the up side the forecast rain for this morning in Weston didn't come. The club know their pitch so fingers crossed they're a more honest and considerate entity than Dover 🤞🏻

Typical! I waited until 1:30 to see if they were going to have an inspection and, with nothing seemingly planned, decided to go off and do something else, then came back to find this news. A rare missed match for me. Oh well, there's always NLTV (if it works...)

It'll work, it's just not nearly the same 😔 You could also have the last laugh, it's all very well saying it's going ahead but the matchday official could still turn up and say "nah" 🙄
