Laddo back home. Said it was an average game but 3 points all the same. He agrees about the clubhouse and ground but said that his loaded chips with cheese and chilli con carne was well nice. Cheap cheap cheap and no quality! I saw those loaded fries 20 years ago when my Aunty's cat vomited on her carpet!

At £4, yes, cheap, cheap, cheap. But he is still standing and maintains that it sufficiently filled a hole.

Laddo also said that the local pub, 'The Old Ship', was an experience with it's layout and decor.

My first visit to Aveley at their new ground (having played for Worthing on their old swamp) and I was very impressed with the whole set up. Such a shame that their home attendances are so low, the stadium deserves more. With regards to the game itself, I thought that we looked very comfortable for the most part and for a change I chose to spend the first half watching Worthing defensively. Very interesting to watch and hear Alfie Young directing the back line. He was the voice. A very accomplished performance from the team without ever reaching the heights. As a team our forward threat is always evident, and as an Aveley supporter said to me "the way your team keep the ball makes us chase all over Essex" A really good 3 points away from home.

Just imagine what numbers Ollie could be on had he not been sidelined up top for Greg Luer at the start of the season. Listened to the game while watching Chi v East Grinstead. No disrespect to them but watching Joe Clark, Conrad Honore, Jimmy Wild and Mo Jammeh made me appreciate how far we have progressed, and relatively quickly. Great result that, especially with Yeovil and Chelmsford losing. We stay 2nd but pull the rope ladder up a bit from below whilst getting the gap to top spot down to 10 points... we couldn't... could we? NLS Table - LinkIn hindsight I think it worked , he has really put a shift in week in week out since then. It just goes to show the manager knows his players better than we do.

Watching Pitchside and seeing Willard score and Wadham run over to celebrate has made me reflect on our loans compared to last year. With the exception of Ricky who was standout, this year they have been steady and bolstered the squad. Last year, the likes of Paxman, Dabre and Chambers were pivotal in our playoff run and justly celebrated.
This year it is our own who are setting the standard... Ollie top scorer by a country mile, Joe Felix every winger's nightmare, Joel 'standing in' at CB but better than many full time CBs, Klass running the midfield, Cash terrorizing defences, the list is endless and it's all us. Nothing away from these loanees, but what a place to come for the next phase of your footballing career!
Big congrats to the management team for this culture and quality at the moment! And we are still giving opportunities to Chopper, Reuben and Ollie Starkey on merit!
