Not sure if this has been posted before so apologies if it has.
Might help raise some funds for the club in the difficult weeks/months ahead.

A question was asked on Rebel Yell live at the weekend about what has happened to the fund. The answer was quick, "I think it's stalled". No further comment was made beyond the obligatory 'money is difficult at the moment' observation and the conversation quickly moved on. It's a shame it wasn't discussed further because personally I think this is far more disappointing than merited the briefest of almost defeatist mentions. Money is tight, I get that, no-one expects a 'Captain Tom style' tsunami of donations. But £650 from a fan base of around 1,000?, sorry everyone but for me that's just piss poor. But I figured I should just bite my tongue, shrug my shoulders and give up rather than keep pushing something that clearly no-one seems interested in This article from the Isthmian site today however got me annoyed again. It shows what other clubs have been doing and have raised so far... 'Charity begins at your local football club' - Link
Let's look at that these numbers more closely... Folkestone - Average crowd 514 have raised £4,600.Merstham - Average crowd 191 have raised £1,100.Leatherhead - Average crowd 357 had raised over £1,500 when last updated two weeks ago. Cambridge City - Average crowd 185 had also raised £1,500 when last updated a week ago. South Park - Average crowd 73* have raised £1,250. *that's not a misprint!Ashford United - average crowd 242 have raised £1,085.Whyteleafe - Average crowd 135 have raised £4,000.Sittingbourne - Average crowd 157 have raised £3,400. Faversham Town - Average crowd 203 have raised £1,300.Hearn Bay - Average crowd 351 have raised £1,500.That's a lot of smaller clubs than ours raising much more than us. South Park average 73 fans per game and have raised TWICE what we had managed... WTF? If 'money being tight' is the reason for our fund being so low, why is money somehow tighter for everyone here in Worthing than other places? The answer is, it isn't. Indeed a recent report by the Centre for Cities showed Worthing is likely to have one of the least heavy financial impacts of the virus because, together with Oxford and Bradford, we are one of the least dependent areas on aviation, a key barometer for economic damage. I really think the club needs to put some weight behind this fund now, it is no coincidence that the higher cash sums above are the ones being pushed by the clubs themselves. I appreciate it was set up by a fan and as such the club, the ultimate recipient of any funds raised, were not plugging it over enthusiastically. Being polite however, not wanting to appear to be doing things for self gain, is all very nice but it has meant clubs infinitely smaller than ours are raising thousands while we are raising just hundreds. Well I say 'raising' the total hasn't budged by a penny in weeks Come on Rebels, we are being made to look like proper tight fisted gits here. Our club isn't rich, it has overheads in this period that are not covered by the budget. They budgeted on us coming through the turnstiles and spending money on programmes, beer, food and merchandise etc. The least we can do if we truly support our club is help them out with just a bit of that money to keep them going through lockdown. Let's not sleepwalk into a financial problem at Woodside Road. Rebel Yell, please don't brush over the fund on the next edition, use the platform to help light a fire under this fundraiser. It even carries the RY mantra, 'by the fans for the fans'. To be honest I'm looking at all the various supporters groups too. You've all got accounts across all manner of social media platforms. The club seem reluctant to publicise the fund ( and they really should stop being so infuriatingly 'PC' about doing so ) so that's where we as fans can step up and get the word back out there. If we can't make the £10,000 target (genuinely NOT over optimistic if Folkestone are already half way there) then lets try and light a fire under this fund and get ourselves at least some respectability by supporting our club better than £650 flipping quid eh? Come on, at least lets raise more than South Park for heavens sake! PS - I'd already chipped in but to stave off any 'put yer money where your mouth is' accusations i'll kick off the rebirth of this much needed fundraiser myself.

Not sure if this has been posted before so apologies if it has. Might help raise some funds for the club in the difficult weeks/months ahead. The club circulated an email today reminding us of the Easyfundraising link. There's no harm therefore in reminding anyone not on the circulation list of another way you can help WFC. The lockdown fund is vital for the club right now but it is a 'one off' for this hopefully unique fallow financial period. Easyfundraising though is just a one time quick, simple and free adjustment to our online shopping habits that will raise money for ever. I must confess I hadn't made the switch myself until a week or so ago, being a massive technophobe sometimes change can be scary. If it helps anyone similar I can report that it was indeed very easy to set up and it does indeed cost you absolutely nothing. You can shop online as normal, you just get to your usual sites (and others) via the Easyfundraising app., simple as. The individual sums raised per purchase are obviously only small but if enough people make the switch, and over time, the club stand to gain thousands. Give it a try, it costs you nothing and during lockdown you literally have nothing better to do

Despite the plea above, despite the hugely embarrassing realisation that clubs with tiny followings can raise far more than us, the fund hasn't reignited. With the club still sitting on its hands wilfully refusing to help itself by promoting it, with no mention of it on Rebel Yell Live this weekend and with not one retweet in weeks from any of the supporters groups I guess that's far from surprising. I therefore officially give up. Around £40k short for the ground improvements it sounds like the club are planning another fund raising round soon anyway so this fund is dead in the water. Good luck with that if the level of support to this fund was any guide, but then I fully expect a club instigated fund raiser will be plugged to within an inch of its life. Fair enough. At least Harry tried to do something and at least in failing to get it going again I failed trying something too. 'Tis better to fail trying than failing to try as they say.

Just recently come on the forum after some time away and catching up with these posts! Please do not be dissapointed, lots going on behind the scenes!!!
We are looking at moving the crowdfunder Harry set up into an ''official'' club fundraising pull alongside lots of new and exciting ideas - Many discussions have been going on via zoom/skype/whatsapp you name it to assure the club gets the money they need!
On RebelYell the reason why we 'brushed over it' was because it wasnt ''official'' and in light of the upcming announcement due in the next week or so - Just waiting for the green light for the club to announce the next steps on how you/us fans can help.
I can assure you we are all working hard to make this a success and money already raised will be pushed accross. Hope this helps!

Good to hear.
I'd sussed out why the club wasn't pushing it but still thought the fanbase could've done some of the heavy lifting alone. Ho hum.
We'll see what emerges but whatever form it takes it needs to be pushed on all fronts. That must be how those tiny wee clubs are raising more than us and we shouldn't pass up any opportunity to keep cash coming in at the moment.

Absoultely I agree - Everyone aiming in the same direction is the way forward & that's for the entire club & fans in all aspects (senior,u18s,women)
We will make it happen & we'll be better after this. I promise you that.
