Bognor finds itself behind the curve in so many ways, it should come as no surprise they were late to this party too It is hard to feel personal sympathy for dear old Jack given the rumour he almost single handedly railroaded 'null and void' through. Rocks fans though?, as you say, I hope it works out for them. Some better facilities for the away leg of the next double wouldn't go amiss.

Keithsson we have to love your attempts for confrontation. Surely imitation is when you copy others? If you check your facts you will see that Bognor announced ground improvements involving floodlights, grandstand and a new toilet block on April 1st some 5/6 weeks before Worthing ππ π€π€π€ surely that means you have copied the Rocks !! Like many things if you analyse FACTS. We had a Rocks radio 3 season ago, we had a podcast ages ago long before Worthing. Its nice to know you like copyins usπππ Congratulations on your fund raising, and I look forward to seeing your efforts next year. Shame you couldn't copy us by gaining promotion.
Stay safe πππ

Ha ha, reel 'em in
I'm sure I could go back and find the programme notes from last year when our redevelopment plans were first mentioned.
Anyway t'was not the plans themselves that are the source of the plagiarism, more the fundraising mechanism.
If a fan fundraiser was such an original idea then why start it now?, why not when the aforementioned 5-6 weeks ago?
No. I think Jack has looked east with green eyed envy and wants a slice of the action.
Time for Rocks fans to step up then.
Good luck to you.

Hi Cityboy, the imitation comment came from me rather than Keithsson and refers to crowdfunding, contributors featuring on a wall etc. Seems like a FACT to me.
I will more than accept your podcast inspired ours but I suspect that you were not the first club ever to do one and that, just as with floodlight improvements, and new bogs ("Bogs for Bognor" would be a great marketing strapline) that possibly other clubs may have been there before both of us.
My good wishes for your effort continue however and while missing out on promotion may have hurt, some of us were not over convinced of how great the Connie South experience would have been at this stage in our clubs development
Stay safe
Kenty

It was brought to our attention after we had released a couple. Correct me if I'm wrong its only on YouTube whilst ours is on various platforms. We didn't go about 'copying' an idea from Bognor because they did it first!. Maybe I copied the idea from Peter Crouch as that's what gave me the motivation to do one for us Rebels... maybe its the fact that I contributed to a friends podcast network that gave me the experience to do it. Its not a Willy Waving session here. Great you have a radio and podcast, but its not a competition. People like myself have come into the supporters association with a want of pushing things forward and modernising by engaging with new fans through a digital era. I only care for the feedback from our own fans, which is great. We are improving all the time and I know for a fact Pete had a good chat with the Rocks Radio guy when he was at woodside for a game when Bognor weren't playing... didn't see any hostility there, just very complimentary chat.

The Rocks crowdfunder has started, you can follow its progress here should you so wish... You are our Rocks!
Genuinely, good luck to them. Any digs from me are always tongue in cheek. However, I can't help but think some of the 'rewards' are not all that rewarding. Get your name woven into the 20/21 shirt?, yeah, I quite like that. Nice touch. But you also get the opportunity to buy a 20/21 shirt for Β£45... surely if you were so minded to wear such a thing you could just do that anyway, that's roughly the normal price of a shirt Also we were offered lifetime season tickets for Β£1,500, they are offering 10 year season tickets for Β£1,250. Time limiting it suddenly doesn't make it sound all that attractive. We shall see I guess. Maybe we could use Β£2.5k of our 'leftover money' to play them again in the future, you know, novelty value as we'll have gone up and left them behind. We could even have Robbie Blake as player/manager... erm, thanks but no thanks, we'll pass on that generous offer Edit - 'quick draw Kenty' beat me too it

Their fund was going so well they raised the target figure from 30k to 40k.
At the time of writing the fund sits at 31k. Great effort but as we found with ours, the hard yards are the final ones.
Edit - to compare, with almost the same number of days until both funds close, ours currently stands at 45k

From a quick look at other Isthmian clubs, the 2 of us seem to have set the most challenging (or highest) targets.
It may be that being specific about what the money raised is to be used for rather than a just "we need dosh" appeal causes a better reaction. As Gobbo says, well done to both clubs

To be fair itβs not who can out do who,but great achievement by both clubs ππ½ππ½ On the last point Gobbo, absolutely, fantastic efforts. I think Kenty hits the nail on the head as to why though. Both our clubs have provided a vision they want to achieve and the fanbases can envisage it so have quite literally bought into it. Funds looking for a 'hand up' and not just a 'hand out' seem to do much better. As to comparing the two efforts, in truth we can't really. I only put our figure up because since hitting our target two weeks ago the heat rather went out of our campaign and readers may or may not have updated themselves as to where it currently sits. I guess that's an inevitable 'resting on our laurels' thing but it would've been nice for the club to have kept promoting the fund, maybe a new video clip to say thanks and explain where additional funds were going etc. You say it isn't who can out do who but you'd already by then gone for the 'points per game' route by working out contributions per supporter I jest of course but just to counter, that comparison doesn't work either. Firstly we don't have exactly the same rewards, ours are arguably weighted a tad lower in value. Secondly with higher supporter numbers inevitably the 'mean', 'mode' etc will be lower. And lastly it doesn't take account of multiple contributions. I for example liked the look of three of the rewards, indeed contributing four times if you count Harry Shiels original fan led fund which was amalgamated into it. No, it's better just to say well done to both sets of supporters in supporting their clubs. I'm sorry if putting our total in the update on your total made it look like 'willy waggling'. It wasn't, it was just our total hadn't been reported here for a week or two. But that said, the mere fact you instantly assumed there was a superiority complex at play must mean you have an innate inferiority complex You don't always get my sense of humour Gobbo so, again, that was a joke

Rocks target has been raised yet again, to 50k this time (currently 33k) I can't help but feel we maybe missed a trick by letting up on the momentum we had getting to the 43k. Had we stretched the target to even a modest 50k and kept promoting it I reckon we'd be there by now. As it is we've got 20 something days to go and the champagne has long since gone a bit flat. The counter arguement to that is of course that repeatedly setting a target then raising it once the fans have reached it or neared it is, well, greedy. Arguably it could even be dancing round the fringes of being a bit 'fraudy' too... "come with us as we march to the top of that there hill"...then "cheers for marching up that hill, now there's this other hill... and now yet another hill

Chances are there'll be another crowdfunder to the east as well soon. Lewes look set to have their lease extended so they can get grant support for ground development plans. Having witnessed Rebels and Rocks fans dip into their pockets to bolster funds Rooks fans will inevitably be asked the same too. More hear from the Isthmian Site - LinkNot sure what plans they have mind, their facilities seem pretty good to me for the level their at... and the one above. My only gripe at the dripping pan is the catering. If you don't want 'lardy dah (f)artisan gourmet fare' (and the prices that come with it) all the common man can have are warmed up Pukka pies
