That picture tells us everything WW.
Its just unfathomable with the forecast why they didn't just sweep the snow while it was still powdery. Instead its been trampled on and compacted.
Putting my cynical hat back on... if the fallback position for Trophy postponements is indeed Tuesday then I reckon with zero effort made to clear anything they've already long since decided to let the big thaw on Sunday do all the work for them.
And that's fine for them because they don't have other fixtures that get knocked into next year as a consequence 🤬

From their forum...
"I’m guessing the Worthing game is off.
Maybe the person moaning on the Worthing forum we didn’t clear the snow when fluffy could explain where you put all the snow from the pitch and walkways and car park and roads and footpaths within half a mile. And how many people it would take to carry out such a massive undertaking."
Where there's a will there's a way.
For time immemorial clubs have banded together volunteers to help get a game on. You've had five days so it's hardly a 'lastminute.com' situation is it. You have no verges next to your paths and roads?, oh please 🤣
The point is there appears not to have been a will...to even try... and that my friend makes Maidstone no different to Dover on Saturday, who also sat on their hands and did the square route of diddly squat about a blindingly obvious situation.
The only way your club can elevate themselves from the gutter level of Dover, if only to pavement level, would be to call in a local ref, and call it off already. Everyone could then plan their weekend accordingly. But you could've done that dsys ago. The opportunity to put some effort in and get the game on probably passed on Tuesday, we all saw the forecast 🙄

Once the settled snow freezes and becomes solid I don't think there would be a lot anybody could do to remove it until nature takes over and the sun comes out. Hacking and chipping away at impacted snow and ice with shovels isn't advisable with a 3G pitch underneath which could become damaged. And where would all the removed snow go? Plenty of games already off tomorrow in that part of the country. Annoying but assume Maidstone will make an early decision sometime today to confirm a postponement.

There will be a pitch inspection at 4pm this afternoon at Maidstone.

Horsham managed to clear the snow for Tuesday's match when their pitch, car park and surrounding roads/paths were covered. Where did they put the snow?

You can't have a go at any club for not getting a game on after the weather this week. Especially when their town and area has been under snow and ice all week.

Precisely... because where there's a will there's a way. For what it's worth with just over an hour to go until the game gets called off... Hinsh's Ha'penny - YouTube

To use the Club's line from the weekend... Didn't see that coming 🙄 Game off now. Wonder if it will be Tuesday night now. Awaiting confirmation, but yes... Can't imagine for a second the FA will object and kick a Trophy game into next year. There won't be a revised preview obviously, as only one thing has changed... Maidstone sitting on their hands has given them a bit of assistance... our players have their regular jobs midweek so it's a lot more of a rush for them midweek than it would've been at the weekend with just the match to focus on. I'm sure that thought never crossed their mind 😉

Totally the right decision and well done to Maidstone for the early heads up to call the game off. Absolutely no comparison to last weekend’s debacle when we were only half an hour Dover when the announcement was made. Looking at the weather in Maidstone which has been a lot worse than in Worthing, it would have taken an army of volunteers all armed with blow torches to get the game on. Unachievable. Not quite sure what Keithson’s gripe is. He doesn’t even attend away games 😳

It is pantomime season, so altogether now...
..."oh yes he does" 😄
NB- not all, not many, but as a blanket statement it's incorrect 😉

Great effort by the lads at Horsham to get Tuesdays game on but for what ? A predictable drubbing in the 'massive sussex senior cup' in front of 93 .Who would of guessed ? 🤧🤧😷
