Warning, Kenty the Jinx is travelling down for this game!!!!!!!!!! I did warn you!!!!!!!!! At least I saw a goal this time. To rub salt in the wound, the radio played "Celebration" by Kool and the Gang as well as "Fantastic Day" by Haircut 100 on the way home, grrrrrrr In fairness I started it with the preview by saying we were purring at the moment 🤦♂️ Hinsh Post Match - YouTube

I'm not too down hearted about yesterday and thought it was a cracking game to watch. We looked a bit leggy which was unsurprising after Saturday's efforts with 10 men and a couple were completely off it for whatever reason. We created loads of chances, threw the kitchen sink at it and got caught on the break twice in the last minute to give the scoreline a flattering look. Welling deserved the win and played with courage - they won't be going down playing like that. Hellish journey home (for me) with the M25/M23 junction closed to compound a disappointing but entertaining evening.
PS - Ollie's streak continued, he's basically now the Undertaker and Wrestlemania!

Yeah, that game can be written off as a statistical outlier really. The away day capitulations of the earlier part of the season were forming a bit of a worrying pattern, this one though sits more randomly. Just a bad day at the office, a night with no rub of the green. Onwards...

Hellish journey home (for me) with the M25/M23 junction closed to compound a disappointing but entertaining evening. PS - Ollie's streak continued, he's basically now the Undertaker and Wrestlemania! As well as J7 (M23) being closed, J5 was closed as well; thanks to a lack of diversion signs, I ended up going down and back up the Sevenoaks bypass. To avoid the J7 closure, I risked my car's suspension by going down the potholed track known as the A22 (three sets of temporary traffic-lights down there), then got to Shoreham to find the flyover closed... Agree with Welling deserving the win: some of their last-ditch defending was incredible (especially the goalmouth scramble) and their second goal was as good a breakaway goal as you are likely to see (on a par with Luque's at Eastbourne Borough). And where did Sonny Fish get that pace from?! Their manager describes us as the Man City of NLS....! He also said that the penalty was dubious, but their keeper punched Dylan in the head with both fists, so looked fair enough to me.
