It's two weeks ago and the board of Tarring FC is meeting in emergency session on a Sunday. Wookie A (The chairman), "We've had a request from Yurk City Fc to talk to our manager about taking over at their place, should we allow this?" Wookie B (Board member) "Why would we? We didn't allow Westleigh , Chavant or Eastburn to speak to him" Wookie A "But Yurk are a total basket case, they go through managers like Katie Price goes through husbands or Kenty goes through Kebabs; he would be daft to take the job as it's on the other side of the planet and he has no idea about players from there. Also, this makes it look like we're not blocking his career and so he's more likely to stay with us and help us win the Champions League!" Wookie B "You've convinced me, let them talk to him, what could possibly go wrong for either club? ?"

The yorkies need 3 wins and a draw from the last 7 games . Ain't gonna happen . Our EX could be back in Worthing by May . Totally avoidable Totally pridictable . 😷😷😷

Talk of an ex Worthing player joining York... sure that will go down well with the fan base... Our fanbase or theirs? I'm assuming theirs because if he's 'ex' us it shouldn't bother anyone here 👍🏻 One good thing to come out of Hinsh's dreadful experience up there so far, and the borrowed time he seems to be on already... the chances of any CURRENT players leaving to get thrown into that mess must surely be zero.

Well there are a few ex Worthing players about. I would be interesting to see who it is. It's Marvin Armstrong Adam must be short of hoodies and tracksuits then! Marvin probably gets more money. But again I will be in the minority I never understood why people thought so highly of Marvin. Yes he is a good player. Nothing exceptional in my eyes.

Yes he is a good player. Nothing exceptional in my eyes. I have a slightly morbid fascination with York City at present - to the extent that I've watched highlights of some of their games under Hinsh, my God they are appalling at the back, and the midfield are 'leggy' to say the least. At least Marvin runs around a lot

Why is everyone so bitter? It was always going to happen, we've been talking about it all season. Wish them well and move on.

We shouldn't need to bad mouth him to make ourselves feel good. Look at the ground, look at the board and cheer up. A little negativity (or cynicism) has crept in here and on the terraces but you need only take a step back out the emotion to see we've never been luckier than where we are.

Why is everyone so bitter? It was always going to happen, we've been talking about it all season. Wish them well and move on. Not sure its bitterness. I just think its a case study in the grass not being greener on the other side. There's a level of self preservation, of satisfaction in knowing that, however bad the last two games have been, at least we're not York City. Edit: Not sure it is but any perception of 'bad mouthing/negativity' on my part has been directed at YCFC and the bus they're throwing Hinsh under, not Hinsh himself... lest there be any doubt 😉

i think we have an absolute very good reason to be bitter about Hins move . Worthing had a very good feeling about it . the players loved him , the fans loved him , the board loved him . He really has let every one down including himself . what did he hope to gain from the move . York have nothing to offer apart from money & its going to end in tears for him . His credibility if any with York fans is Zero . He has walked away from a club that is going places to a team going down . How long does he think he is going to get ? its absolutely crazy on his part . again i think its shameful to walk away from what he started with all the support Barry & George gave him at this stage of the season . He should have given the club notice of his intentions at the end of the season . question - does anyone think he would have left if we got promoted and York went down .

My personal view is that we were always going to lose Hinsh at some point, it's just the way football is at all levels. I always wanted it to be a matter of choice by him rather than a sacking after a loss of form or interest; that would have been a poor reward for his hard work for WFC.
But, and it's a big but, I can't help but be disappointed by the timing of his departure and the destination. If we hadn't gone up then this summer would have been totally understandable. No disrespect to York, but going to an EFL club or one fighting for promotion to the EFL, totally understandable. Leaving Woodside for a club in crisis with a fickle owner where you are likely to fail due to geography, prejudice and short termism hurts more than a bit; what was so bad that you had to leave now for such a poor prospect Adam?
Any road, what's done is done and it will be how we as a club and fanbase deal with the cards dealt to us over the coming weeks that will define this season, not one brilliant managers departure.

Can we just cut to the chase here ? Hinsh’s decision to take the York job was almost entirely dictated by the eye watering trebling of his previous wages on a 3 year contract. Who wouldn’t do the same in whatever job they’re in ? It gave him financial security but most definitely not job security. He’s taken a gamble on managing at that level at this stage of his career. It may well still work out but from what I’m aware he’s taken on an absolute sh*t show of a squad with a young moneybags owner as equally out of his depth as Hinsh and his coaching team appear to be. Yeovil were also ‘victims’ of the current owner who literally has more money than sense. I fear that their large fan base will be the arbitrators of his destiny and it’s not looking great on that front ! Hopefully the experience will not prove too damaging to his reputation and part of me hopes they put him out of his misery sooner rather than later. Worthing and Hinsh was a marriage made in heaven but as with so many managers, this doesn’t always mean that his coaching / managerial skills will suit other clubs. Some of his major attributes at our level lie in his coaching ability, bringing on young talent and very importantly his fantastic contacts as well as maintaining great relationships with ex players. Maybe his ceiling is conference south but whatever ends up happening at York I’m sure it will ultimately prove a valuable experience and make him a more rounded and streetwise manager. It will also teach him that ‘Hinshball’ only works to a certain degree and that winning ugly provides the same 3 points that glorious goal fests do. BTW I’m still not convinced it would be a good move to reinstate him.
