Saw the new chap at training last night. Was everyone who is not injured at training last night July08? I certainly hope they all were, otherwise we will struggle against what seems a decent Division One North side.

Yes everyone was there and the spirit in the camp is very high. A lot more possitive attitude between all who were there

He's not the first Worthing player to get injured and be paid and then move on.

He's not the first Worthing player to get injured and be paid and then move on. I remember there being something similar with Danny Davis the first time he was at Worthing. He got injured and could not work so a Worthing fan arranged a collection for him and almost as soon as he received the sizable amount of money from the Worthing fans he left to go to Lewes. There is hardly any loyalty this days at any level, Such a pity really.

Pretty annoyed here I'm afraid. I like Richard as a person but UNLESS he was pushed, it's a pretty shabby state of affairs and means that he surely has earned a place in the WFC hall of shame for "most expensive player ever based on pounds earned/minutes played". And to sign for the side containing the bloke that crippled him in the first place as well. And it also proves what a Mickey Mouse set-up Burgess Hill are. From handing round the begging bowl, not paying their rent, not mantaining their ground and breaking floodlight rules to signing big money players all in the space of 6 months. It's like seeing a dole sponging non-working council tenant coming back from Comet wheeling a brand new 52" plasma screen TV into the house that is subsidised by the taxpayer. No-one was more mad than us when we found out that certain important people in the club had not kept the finances in order. we now have 5 directors instead of one, which seems to have sorted that problem. There was no problem with the ground maintenance - its better now than its ever been - it was the shite tarmac 5 a side cage thing that for some reason we have to maintain, despite the fact we dont use it or own it. As for the floodlights, we are not allowed to have them on late so have to kick off at 730 (despite the 25 lights at the leisure centre which are on until 11.30 a mile away) The problem was some of the baffles round the lights which a certain person was responsible for sorting but didnt ( I refer you to the rent) Now done. This wont be the end of the subject as MSDC clearly dont want a football club in town. We'd rather not be a council tenant (although I'd keep the plasma screen) but MSDC dont seem to have any interest in helping the club in that regard....so stuck between a rock and a hard place. As for the money being avaliable, I suspect a 400% increase in directors, a decent manager, and an FA cup run have something to do with that. As for Rich Greenfield, you've gained a quick, unflashy, unselfish winger who will score goals but is still the unfinished article, and needs to learn how to tackle. Should be 2 great games!!

Quite disappointed to see Hudson go; I would've expected a bit more appreciation for the way he's been looked after at our expense. Of course, he could have looked at our side and decided there isn't a place for him at the moment(ha-ha), but if that's the case why would Green field want to come?
I now see Howell's plan: he's rebuilding the Bognor side of a couple of seasons ago. He should get out more!

If (?) Richard Hudson has manipulated the end of his contract, just so he can link up with Jamie Howell at Leylands Park, then he really has behaved shabbily and treated Worthing football club and its supporters with contempt. It prove's that contracts at any level of football aren't worth the paper they're printed on. All a player has to do is make waves, rock the boat, put out the feelers to wherever he wants to move and bingo - contract torn up.
Whilst I would take the point there's plenty wrong and questionable with the way Worthing F.C. are run and managed at times, the club stuck by him during his horrific injury. To jump ship as soon as a degree of fitness starts to return is contemptuous.
Unless there's more to this story than meets the eye & hasn't leaked into the public domain yet??...........
