although the disappointment (not in the team) of last night has not quite gone yet a thought about next season suddenly appeared from nowhere.
could we be playing lots / a number of home games on friday / monday night or sunday afternoon if our home games clash with horsham ??

Ryman should match home and away games so they correspond accordingly. Midweek matches may differ.
Note I said "Should"
Cup successes for both sides (remember nothing confirmed yet!) will be where the midweek games are messed around

They will keep our matches apart but in the event of any clashes Horsham would take preference 'if the groundshare goes ahead'. We could even benefit by avoiding midweek Champions league night clashes, which have borne some of our lowest crowds this season.

But as we are both likely to be Ryman clubs next year, the computer should have no problem making sure we don't have any Saturday clashes. Nonetheless, I rather think we should be considering Wednesday as our regular home evening to get away from Champions League on terrestrial and we should definitely move kick off back to 7.45. I also like the idea (not personally, actually, but from a club point of view) of say 3 or 4 Friday evening games, preferably againt the likes of Casuals (either), Chipstead or Chatham, who have no discernible travelling support for us to lose.

Some excellent idea's there. I've always been of the mind, that home games may be better off played on a Wednesday due to the Champions league factor on ITV. I know Sky show it on a Wednesday, but not everyone has one of Murdochs dishes.

I don't think and hope we will not have to play on Firday's and Sunday's as these are difficult for not only me but also many others.
From what I have heard though, the host club should take any preference.

I thought the Friday game against Corinthian Casuals was a big success and a few more of them would be just the job.

I thought the Friday game against Corinthian Casuals was a big success and a few more of them would be just the job. I agree - it is not something I like personally but from a club point of view a real sucess. The attendance was well above average and Casuals have little travelling support so it was made up mainly of locals. I don't think you can do it too often though, maybe 3 or 4 times a season max. It did though leave me with a big hole on Saturday afternoon

Im totally in favour of a few friday night games, but agree it should be just three or four. If your saturday needs brightening up there are loads of local sides at county level that could do with the support; maybe next time a WFC contingent should agree to gatecrash a game and improve their noise levels ;D

If your saturday needs brightening up there are loads of local sides at county level that could do with the support; Oh I know and indeed in desparation (well mainly to see some ex-Rebels) I ended up that Saturday at Wick watching them capitulate against the might of Lyons Farm United. The trouble is I don't have the passion except when watching Worthing to shout encouragement, sing or even to hurl abuse at the officials

I know what you mean. For anyone needing a slightly random thursday night football-fix, Rustington play Peacehaven at Shoreham's ground in the County 2 cup final. I'll be there with the boy unless its absolutely tipping down later.

For anyone that remotely cares, the County 2 final was won by Peacehaven 4-3 in extra time, Rustington 3-1 down with no more than 10 mins to go and got practically a last minute penalty to draw level.
Frozen evening but for a few quid a fantastically entertaining game.
With more worthing relevence I was overhearing a lot of terrace talk about the new sponsorship, and the goings on at woodside with the groundshare etc. All publicity is good.

I am not in favour of Friday night games because it clashes with my football training.
