O-0 Half Time.
Lots of huff and puff but very little on the way of chances. In fact as far as I can recall a speculative Jasper effort is the only shot on goal for either side.
It could be a long night!

2-0 FT
Comfortable enough in the end, goals from Jasper then Callum from the spot.
Restricted Tanners to just one shot on target.
Through to (we think?) the quarter finals.

Very comfortable win in what was a rather drab encounter. Squad utilised and another clean sheet, momentum kept going as well. Hoping for a home draw in next round otherwise some lengthy midweek trips could be on the horizon with Cheshunt, Margate, Folkestone and Brightlingsea all winning this evening.

Comfortable 2nd half in the end - Was funny their manager slipping in central midfield at edge of box. Chalaye was good when he came on.

Provided Storm Ciara hasn't blown the ground away we have a quarter final to enjoy under the lights of Woodside Road. The winds will finally drop on Tuesday after lunch and it is forecast to be dry, perfect conditions for a rousing cup tie. The trouble is this match is like having to get through a perfectly acceptable main course when all you want, all that has consumed your thoughts since the unsatisfactory starter, is the dessert. Folkestone is without doubt the focus and that will undoubtedly be reflected in both the crowd and the team selection. I know it'd only mean having to play it at some probably just as crucial stage but we could really do with having this game postponed... we can't blame the pitch so is there any chance of unbolting a couple of roof panels on the stand and claiming storm damage? Folkestone you see were due to mirror us match for match in the run up to 'the big one'. But Basildon in the VT was called off while we played Stortford and what chance do you think there'll be of them busting a gut to get their grass pitch playable after Ciara for their Kent Senior Cup game against Tonbridge? Mind you, their week off last week didn't help them against Carshalton. But the show must go on. So what did we learn about Cheshunt from a couple of weeks ago. We learnt they were a bit one dimensional, a bit agricultural and a whole lot of dirty. Consequently they brought us down to their level and in the end they were just 15 minutes from getting a point until their keeper messed up, and that was despite ending the game with nine players. 'Highlights' - LinkI don't suppose in the two weeks since we last met they've become an angelic pretty passing team so we know what we'll get. Since then they've drawn at home to Bowers, lost at home to Leatherhead, lost away to Hornchurch and but won 6-1 at Lewes on Saturday. It is pointless really making league placing comparisons, form comparisons and drawing any real inference because the elephant in the room is team selection. Making those comparisons assumes the two teams will field their strongest sides. We won't, well I hope very much we won't, this really is a game for the wider squad, Saturday is just too important. You might think that with no promotion chance Cheshunt would prioritise this competition and give it more attention, their only real chance of success this season. But they are very much in the relegation picture, for very different reasons they too need to prioritise the league. There's just a very outside chance Hinch could always surprise us and allow the team from Saturday to 'get straight back on the bike' with a moral boosting win and performance to get Cray out of their system and gain momentum for Saturday... there's a degree of very brave logic in that but don't hold your breath. One exception to our preservation of recognised first teamers could be Jessie Starkey. It was never really established if his red at Stortford applied to or indeed 'timed' correctly for the Velocity Trophy, or would start against Folkestone. His red on Saturday though means Folkestone is a complete no no. Should he actually be eligible for this game, there's no real harm in playing him as he won't otherwise feature for us for weeks. So as previews go that's pretty weak I know, I apologise. Basically we're not overly enthused with playing this midweek, league placings and form mean nothing and we've no idea what strength of teams will be paraded. On it's own merits though it is a game that sees us two games from a final, and what will be will be. Come on you Rebels!

Don't think Sutton have a game tomorrow so bring back Callum. His mum might listen to the commentary then!! According to FA website Jesse's ban ends on March 14th. No idea whether he will be available for selection for the Senior Cup tie or if that game will count as one of his banned matches.

Would you be so kind as to copy a link to the relevant suspensions bit of the FA Site for me WW.
It isn't that I doubt the 7 game ban thing, it's just it would be a useful link for me to save somewhere for future reference.
Anything to stop me scratching my head with the Isthmian disciplinary rules/regs.
