If you wonder where the back-page news on WFC is, look no further than the double page spread in the middle of the paper, with a large main picture of the fans in the first half. Some lovely mug-shots Understandably Worthing RFC stole our thunder with their promotion. I wonder whether getting into the national league will raise their profile above that of the football club. Next season's coverage will be interesting, to see just how much the non-promotion has impacted upon us. It could be a great time of change, trying to raise our profile and getting the Football in the Community thing up and running in earnest.

the herald said the travelling support was "more than 80" which to me seems a strange way of describing what through my biased eyes was support that was comfortably into three figures

Yes did wonder - I would say there can't have been far short of 100 in the end stand and doubtless a few in the main seated stand too.
Either way, with the conditions even down in worthing at 5pm it was a decent turnout.

Pity there's no sign of pic of all of us on the herald website Have no fear. Your mug has made the big centre spread in the Herald: As has mine. It has to be said: Roger is the most prominent figure in that excellent pic.

There was easily 150-180 WFC fans there when you count those along the sides. Had we scored that would have been a better indicator.

Rugby may have stolen the back page but Worthing based football was on the front page err...................

Actually, yes I noticed that only after I posted (see I usually go to back page first).
Disgraceful behaviour from a young lad, and Im suprised that the ref's taken it as well as he has. REspect is the buzz word in football at the moment, and without it there won't be enough refs to keep lower-league games going in a few years.

I would normally condemn any kind of football violence, and did again when I saw the headline...
...then I noticed who the ref was!
