Bit of a different way of watching the game today for me. First half I thought we started well but Tonbridge grew into the game. Very good save of Jeffries to deny them a goal. Second half we managed to get that all important first goal. After we scored I thought Tonbridge had a real good spell. They got a penalty but the less said about the execution the better. I was told afterwards by a Worthing fan whilst queuing up for food all Tonbridge supporters were saying he never misses from the spot! Well apparently he does!
One thing I noticed how often they were offside! Didn’t think this was the best game but a really professional performance from Worthing. Nice to see Young back on the pitch. Also Chadwick won all his headers which was good to see. Man of the match was Klass for me. Maybe a bit lucky to be still on the pitch but we will take it.
I thought the referee was very good this match. Gave a couple of advantages for both teams. And all yellows dished out were yellows. He was very lenient with Klass who maybe should have one in the first half.
But another win on the road and second in the league. Yes they are teams that have games in hand on us. However they still have to win them. Only negative today was the confirmation of Odie’s injury. Next game Slough at home.

Laddo has just got in. Said that some Tonbridge fans were goading and chasing the kids after the game. Tonbridge fans giving the Worthing fans verbal at the station. He hasn't really said anymore other than he enjoyed the game.

Were there post match problems between the fans? There is a cryptic post on the Maidstone forum alluding to issues Nothing apparent at the ground as we left... but its a big dark car park outside. Could well have just been local resident juvenile issues but as I queued in the car crawling through Tonbridge High Street there were certainly 'packs' of yoofs up to something then running like the clappers en masse. I'd be surprised if ours were involved, it really didn't seem 'that' sort of away day to be honest.

If so it was nothing, just the innocent heady whiff of Clearisil and Sour Cherry vapes 😉

Agree it was a professional performance. Credit to Tonbridge though, they were well in the game first half and after our goal.
The last few games have shown some excellent triangles through the middle (more than early season). Looks like the squad is starting to click and more chances are being created.
While Klass got away with a tough tackle, I think the ref saw he was on the end of a few too and he managed it well. A good advantage led to the goal.
Well done to the club today on a decent away day!

Were there post match problems between the fans? There is a cryptic post on the Maidstone forum alluding to issues Just a group of 30 or so Tonbridge teens looking for a fight. We left the ground and were met at the end of the car park with "there's those Worthing c**ts". Followed us all the way back to the station getting in our faces saying how they're gonna kick our heads in. Glad to say the response from the Worthing lot was really just pure bewilderment as to how they've conjured up some rivalry between us in their heads, and nobody rose to the agro. Highlight for me was when one of the group got a call to say there were more worthing further up to road and so they all legged it to catch up. One lad ran straight into a sign, went flying, then got up and hobbled over to a wall and sat on it crying. Really dented the 'hard man' image!

A really good away performance against a decent side and in my opinion we just about deserved the 3 points. First half we had one good chance, Jake shooting straight at the keeper although we did have a few openings down the wings but the final cross was lacking. Josh made a very good save tipping away a shot from distance and their 11 looked very dangerous. Started 2nd half well and a fine passing move, assisted by the referee playing a fantastic advantage, saw Klass head across the 6 yard box and Ollie hooked it into the roof of the net. Woeful penalty from their 5, blazing over with 10 to go but I thought after that we saw out the remainder of the game reasonably comfortably. As others have said, Klass was superb in the midfield, also thought Reuben had a solid game at left back. Some highlights etc filmed from behind the goals from Tonbridge TV - youtu.be/fBN0eCa3Qok?si=b1kSPEvHCwk8eODX

Good result...
It sounds like Klass is getting more into now. I think Hinsh has been molding him into a midfield general.
