Great performance, great result, great crowd the only negative was the goal music when we scored! Very tinpot Yes agreed, there is no need for it imo. Have to admit where we were standing, in the shed end, it was very difficult to hear the music because of the noise. But I have been to places where it does work. Ok it was Southampton and the whole crowd reacts to it. But what we must remember that in the past the announcer was a volunteers job. My understanding is that the current announcer was found whilst comparing a comedy night somewhere. And I assume it is a paid role now , like many other ones at the club . And therefore he might been given “directions “ by the club what to do. Who knows. But if we keep hearing lots of music at home games it means we score lots of goals! Can’t complain about that really

I quite like the guy, it was a bit of a gear change after dear old Gary but I've kinda got used to it now.
As for goal celebration music that's a hoary old chestnut at every club, not just us.
Originally introduced in the states back in the day to help 'create atmosphere', just like obesity its crept across the pond and is now ubiquitous here.
We don't need it though, we never did... ESPECIALLY when a goal is scored.

I'm not entirely surprised by the tone of that report. I look at their forum from time to time and it's pretty consistently defeatist. The trouble with always wearing turd tinted spectacles though is that you'll never see the good for the bad. Their #17 down their right wing was lively and willing all afternoon, he gave Roobs and Cam Tutt a torrid time... and he gave him a 2/10... both of which were simply for turning up. Also 'we coasted the first 20 minutes of the second half'. No we didn't, they made the game fractious and stop/start and dragged us down to their level... that's not exactly honourable or pretty but it was a positive for them because they were back in the game. Its poisonous down there, the owners, the manager and fans are completely fractured. They very opposite of us. While I didn't enjoy the anti-football phase they put on the game to knock us off our stride I'd like to think if we had to play them again this season Hinsh would have us more mentally prepared and ready for it. Because of that of all the teams in the play-off picture I'd rather play them, their off field disunity and domestic squabbling is a huge weakness.

Highlights, looks like a clear penalty for them in my opinion, luckily the referee thought otherwise!! Given the positioning of the referee, I'm surprised it wasn't given. Mark it down as one of those evening-up decisions that we supposedly get over the course of a season.

Mark it down as one of those evening-up decisions that we supposedly get over the course of a season. Alfie definately got studs on it. The angle on the highlights doesn't help because Joel is in direct line with it. You can though still see a tiny deviation in the path of the ball from his contact. Notwithstanding that it was a brilliant tackle you still get a sharp intake of breath because even though you know what you saw, we all know officials can't see everything and could quite easily give it.
