With everything happening tomorrow on and around the pitch I really do hope WSM are not the party poopers. We still need to win a football match! Glad its not just me, this has the makings of a banana skin. They've already pee'd on one parade this week (Taunton's survival attempt) and there's absolutely no pressure on 'em at all tomorrow. They can play with freedom and no jeopardy while all the pressure is on us to deliver. 90+ minutes of focused effort is the one and only requirement... all the rest is just froth. Get it done boys 👊🏻

I don't mind a scrappy game as along as we get a result.

There was noticeably lots of Rebels merch out and about in town and on the prom today.
I could be wrong but it might just be the town has suddenly realised its got a football team 😄
Hopefully that'll translate to a big gate today... and the play-off game(s) 🤞🏻

Well it wouldn't be Worthing if we didn't give away a goal head start and a cluster****.
Hopefully that's our generosity used up now because the stuff at the other end has been fantastic.
We've flip-flopped through 5th, 4th and 3rd already so I think we should forget pushing for the three goal win and any shout of 2nd place.
Just win please, no more **** ups 🙏

...and then Chelmsford go and concede an equaliser with three minutes of normal time and four of extra time to play.
We find ourselves one goal shy of their GD with superior GS yet there didn't seem any great urgency to score the one goal that could take second place. Bizarre really surely someone on the bench was following the scores? 🤷🏻
In truth though we created masses of really good chances all game. Brad and Ollie could've easily had a hat- trick each. We'd missed out on potentially hosting the final long before those last seven minutes by being wasteful.
Credit where its due to Weston though, they didn't look like a team who'd played four games in a week.
So Sunday it is, the last game at Woodside and our shot at the final.
Bring it on 👊🏻
Edit: MOTM Cash for me today, just shading Joe Felix for once.

Their keeper made a host of good saves, especially in first half, otherwise we might have had the three goal advantage.

Tues - (5th)Braintree v (6th)Bath Weds - (4th)Maidstone v (7th)Aveley As Chelmsford finished highest they get to host the 5th v 6th winners on Saturday, we face the 4th v 7th winners on Sunday.

Maidstone or Averley would be both tough apponents.

We did well today and got the job done.
However we need to be at best on next Sunday.
At least we have no QF game to play just some much needed extra preparation.
I agree Cash MOTM and lovely to see the players bonding with the fans at the end.
Congrats to Joel on his 150tj appearance capping it with a goal and Ollie bagging his 40th goal of the season!
I also heard that Racine has applied for the permanent managers job.

I also heard that Racine has applied for the permanent managers job. My views of the merits of avoiding the midweek game have been somewhat tested by the energy of Weston today. Yes we have more time to work on our tactics, but fitness wise you couldn't really have said which team had the week off today. We know from our experience at Oxford last season that we were disadvantaged. But how much of that was team fatigue from playing that extra game and how much was from Harrison getting crocked we'll never know. We have the tougher side of the draw that's for sure, both Maidstone and Aveley have finished strong whereas Braintree and Bath have blown hot and cold in recent weeks... NLS final form table - LinkOur two are 4th & 5th, Chelmsford's two are 6th and 9th. Changes a bit with the away form, ours are 4th and 6th, Chelmsford's are 2nd and 12th. NLS away form table - LinkIf it goes to form its us v Maidstone and Chelmsford v Braintree. But, and it could be a sizeable but... Braintree's great away form means its quite possible they could yet best Chelmsford... meaning we could host the final after all 😉 But that's for AFTER Sunday, we must only have eyes on our game. If it is indeed Stones we face then with the 1st Semi Final having already been played BOTH sides will know they've got home advantage in the final if they win it.

Aside from the football which was, as it often is at Woodside... exciting, frustrating, entertaining and great value for money, what a day for the club!
Sun was shining 2533 fans Russ Cook there (good half time interview and lots of photos) Lap of honour for the young ones pre game A minutes applause for our rebels who have passed Lap of honour for the lads after the 90 with Odie, Cam Tutt etc. And the Weston fans (good value all game) cheering our players' kids when they scored a goal during the lap of honour
Whatever happens in the next 2 weeks, well done on a great year Worthing FC!!!

One small hill to die on though, not an itch I've particularly scratched today, its been itching all season really.
But today we secured our highest ever league finish... so could we please maybe stop singing the "we're on our way back" song and create some new chants this summer?
Once we've exceeded everything we've ever done in the entire history of this club the only thing we can possibly 'go back to'... is being worse than we are 🤦♂️
It'd be particularly cringeworthy of course if we find ourselves in the bottom end of the National League next season.
...so too will songs about Bognor and Lewes while we're at it.
The singing is great, I love the atmosphere created by the ABF, but a couple of the tunes really haven't aged well as we've improved as a club.
