movement up to the boardroom and put another manager who can get us to Blue Square South in the dugout. I agree. Maybe not BS South, that might need a 5 year plan, but I certainly think the players need discipline, enforced attendance to training, which is missing and a lot more organisation off the pitch. I also think they need a good 'touchline coach' like Dodge has been and Jamie Howell or Ady Cowell both are. I'm afraid Danny isn't a very good coach at all (can't imagine anyone would disagree with that) and Alan spends his time in the stands these days so that element of things is missing and much needed. If Pook/Bloor stepped back from things and brought in a manager from outside, who answers to them, instead of them answering to themselves, I think a lot of criticism would go away from the current club structure which is, in my opinion, poor.

I respect everyones views and the reasons for them but my personal opinion is that Danny should go as the period of drift that we have had is too dangerous for the club in terms of support etc, re Alan I sit on the fence at this time

You stand up for them and then they come out with nonsense like this www.worthingherald.co.uk/worthing-sport/Pook-sees-fans-getting-behind.3827155.jp"The small element who haven't seem to have disappeared" I wonder why that might be "None of them wanted the ball because they were being jeered by some of the crowd. With more encouragement we could have got a 2-2 draw instead of losing 2-1." Well I never heard anyone jeer the team - plenty of flack directed at the management, though.

Tyhe youth have been a lot better lately and people are definately getting behind them more. I think that Karly Akehurst and Enzo Benn have shown the biggest improvements. I can now see where they were coming from when they got rid of Leo Day. Akehurst has stepped up brilliantly and he could be a very important midfielder in the near future. Its great to see Brotherton doing well too, and Axten has always been a quality defender.

I think that Karl Akehurst has been OUTSTANDING over the last few weeks and has to be considered first choice in the middle of the park now. And best of all, Crawley aside, he seems to have cut out the silly bookings

We never jeered the team, Tuesday we had a series of Bloor out chants, then a chant of "WE SUPPORT THE TEAM" which got our message across.....or it seems didnt

My take on the pook/bloor debacle is split.
The off the field activities are a million times better than they have been, and I would suggest there's not many teams in our league or maybe even ryman prem that can rival what we've achieved this year. It seems pretty evident from the age of the squad that we cannot be paying out the same amount in wages as we have been in the past. The wage bill has been crippling at times and at this level the club does need to try and stay as stable as possible without getting directors handouts all the time. We are doing OK at youth level (or so it seems, without actively following them) and this has to be for the benefit of the club long-term.
On the negative side, 11 men go out on the field of play, guided by their managers as to the style of play and how to win a game. We have failed horribly for months, and only now starting to get a bit of momentum going as the team is more settled.
Fans are not coming to woodside any more - entertainment is the key and playing months of hoof-ball doesnt make the man on the street want to part with his £8. It's a lot easier to drive fans away than it is to win them back, and if numbers are dwindling it could take a while to get back on track. The knock-on effect is that if sponsors see lower numbers, why should they part with their money to have their advertising seen by nobody? And so it spirals.
I'd love to be proven wrong and see the current good run continue, with decent football being played. I feel that we 'should' make the playoffs now and from there it's anyones game.

I have a solution; Alan and Danny to get emergency treatment at a top London hospital for foot-in-mouth disease, stitching mouths closed is but one of the options.
But seriously it seems that mutual loathing is the order of the day, any chance that the management can talk directly with the fans as a bit of clear the air might help.

I don't know why the money players is so well versed. Alan and Danny brought these players in and although we obviously enjoyed the short term success they brought us, no one wanted WFC to be a Lewes, Hornchurch et al boom and bust style club. No one wants the Pacquettes, Slades etc of the world back when we're funding beyond our means to have them play so I don't know why Pook raises this argument. It's the fourth time in 2008 I've heard this point raised. As for the Met Police game, it was crap and very forgettable. We had one shot on target all day and that bounced off Keehan's head when he wasn't looking. There were no boos of the youngsters, just the level of performance which even Danny Bloor said wasn't good enough. In regard to the fans going, I don't even remember the banned ones slagging off the youngsters, just Pook and Bloor. A big difference. On another Worthing Herald interview about J-Bro, Pook said when he was away, he was played on the right, wrongly. That basically says Pook has little faith in Bloor's managerial ability. www.worthingherald.co.uk/worthing-sport/Seeing-the-benefit-in-Brotherton.3827391.jpAre we really in a joint management then? If Pook comes back and rightly puts Jamie up front, where he belongs, what does that say for the power Bloor must have in the dressing room/club in general? All the young lads have looked great, I'm particularly impressed with Axten who is a WFC captain in the making and will go on to a higher level if he keeps going as he is. Benn has settled after a slightly shaky start and looked composed and assured on Tuesday. Akehurst has matured and developed as well, like Ian said, cutting out the compulsory booking a match. Aall in all, the youngsters have indeed done well for us, and I'd rather we had them than the Pacquettes of this world, as I'm sure we all would, I just don't know why they're raised in every interview. Also, if Pook plays these youngsters you assume he has confidence in them, as we do on the touchline and behind the goal. If so, why does he use it as an excuse every time we lose? If they're good enough, they're old enough, and we all know they are good enough.

If Pook comes back and rightly puts Jamie up front, where he belongs, what does that say for the power Bloor must have in the dressing room/club in general? From my position on the fence, and playing devil's advocate, wasn't Jamie only on the wing 'cos Gargan and Francis were up front? With the form of Matt Phelan and Ben Johnson earlier in the season, it made sense to have them wide, leaving Jamie positionless. The positive result of the 'Leafe move looks to be a boost in J-Bro's confidence before returning to a club that desperately needs an in-form striker. I'm sure I even saw him smile on the field a few times last Saturday!
