The youth team game tonight is OFF, and has been for a few days now despite the note in the last home programme and in the Herald.
I believe Sussex Schools are playing tomorrow afternoon at Woodside and assume a number of Worthing players are playing so it's OFF.
The only game tonight is one involving a couple of local U13 sides that Ian Hart has arranged.

No apology needed, Roger, not your fault - you can only deal with the information you're given, right?
I checked the club calendar on the OS on Sunday night and it was there. It had been removed when I checked again last night. Not usually one to criticise the efficiency of the OS, but if a fixture can be removed from the calendar, can't a note be put on the site to inform as well? I saw someone else at the Fortress who'd only come down because the Herald said there was a youth game last night. I find it hard to believe that last night's game, "a couple of local U13 sides that Ian Hart has arranged" was a spur of the moment thing as I understand it was a cup final - not the sort of thing you'd ring round at the last minute to arrange.
I wonder how many people were actually aware of the cancellation as several other regular youth-supporting faces were there, as well as a few club official types and a couple of youth team players. Not the end of the world, didn't have to go far and did some vital networking with a rival U10 team's coach (more news for NLT - Junior being tapped up on the terraces at Woodside!) but being able to make an informed decision would have been nice.

The U18 Youth game due to be last night had been showing as postponed since last Thursday on the Ryman Youth League web site. Five of the Youth team are in the Sussex Squad to play against Hampshire this afternoon at Woodside Road kick off 1400.

The U18 Youth game due to be last night had been showing as postponed since last Thursday on the Ryman Youth League web site. That's all well and good and I understand the reasons for the postponement but it was still being shown on our website as of late Sunday night so there would you might think be no need to check the Ryman website. Just a(nother) simple breakdown in communications and bear in mind that I was due to be doing the T-Hut so it might have been nice had I (as well as any punters) known a bit earlier. Anyway, let's put it all down to just one of those things, nobody got hurt. We needn't lose any sleep over it and it can go down to experience and something to learn for the future. File under nothing to fall out over .

I hope a full and proper seven day approach has been put in. It was a tentative enquiry, to put it politely. No need for Murdoch's media to advertise the fact, but it's flattering that a team would come and ask. It happened last season too, and he didn't move then. It was neither of the clubs playing last night Nothing to worry about, ok Ian? On the other matter, as Roger says it's nothing to fall out over, no big deal - but the game this afternoon? 2 o'clock kick off? Could've taken junior down to watch after school if it had been a tad later, and I'm sure some other schools/youth clubs etc could have organised something to swell the crowd and support the county at a more friendly time. Whatever happened to joined up thinking?

The County Under 18 game yesterday ended in a 3-1 victory for Sussex over Hampshire. They are now in the National Semi - Final where they will play either Somerset or Bedfordshire at home. Worthing were well represented with six of the Under 18 side involved in the match.

Well done to Sussex U18's - let's hope the semi-final is at Woodside too. I shall make a point of being there if it is (or even somewhere equally welcoming ) And how about trying to make it an evening kick off (or at least a bit later than 2.00). I'm sure they could get a decent crowd if they did.
