JB and Dan Bowry depart... Club Site - LinkNot a great surprise Bowry leaving as he barely got any game time, but JB more of a surprise as he was dangerous on his day - but a pro league offer is good for him I guess? Sad to see JB leave, but itβs a great move for him, and he has a family base in Thailand. Who knows it could even lead to him playing international football?

So glad Joe is staying, class player and I fully expected him to get snapped up by someone but another year with us could do wonders for his development!!
I think the next 2 are meeky and Ibby?? That's my guess

That's my guess Joe would command a large fee so I'm surprised he wasn't under contract in any case. I will be surprised if he is a Worthing player at the end of the transfer window!

I belive on that one if he left on a free we would be owed something for his development, I belive that's how the rule on players under 23 works, but as he has signed then we could ask for something even greater!

I suspect (and hope) that our recruitment this year will be very different to last summer. We seemed then to sign a lot of players in the hope that they would be good enough/fit enough and a fair proportion were not.
I would guess that this arose for 2 reasons; firstly we as a club were not sure exactly what skill, fitness and attitude was needed at step 2 and secondly that as a new club at that level, potential targets weren't sure if we would thrive or even survive last season in Connie S.
This summer we are in a far better situation. We have shown that we are a progressive football playing club and we know what we need and want, just the tiny, wee, small matter of getting a keeper in (or do we go with Tillman??)

With the exception of Adam El Abd which just seemed bizarre the early signings (Kane, Jake Robinson and Lewis White) were good'uns... it was the 'trialist signings' that were so disappointing. Looking good against Three Bridges and Lancing turns out not to have been much of a marker for what was required... who knew? π€£ I can't see us going with just young Tillman between the sticks. Retaining the best of what we had and adding proven quality in Wheeler, Felix and Luque (so far) is all a bit undone if we then throw a rookie into a very key position. He'll be very welcome support and has a promising future but I'd be astonished if a more experienced keeper isn't secured.

Agree to the above. While everyone is pleased for Tillman, the gap between a cameo against Bognor and a full season in NLS is beyond comparison. The club will continue to develop him as they should, but the responsible thing is to sign experience. Just think how many points Harrison won single handedly last year with the defenders in front of him. Tillman is not yet any where near that and such a jump wouldn't be good for his development imo.

So we've got, confirmed:
Racine Colbran Rye Felix Wills Starkey Wheeler Luque Pearce Robinson
That's pretty decent.
Waiting to hear about Meekums, Barker and Akanbi.
Heard a couple of interesting rumours the other day about two very good players as well - if these two come off, then it would seem the club are going for quality over quantity next season, possibly turning to youngsters when injuries occur?
But goalkeeper is a massive gap that needs plugging - a loan here wouldn't surprise me one bit.
