An interesting and on the whole successful experiment, I thought which has some potential but not on a wholesale scale. We knew Casuals had limited travelling support so an above average attandance suggests we draw in at least a few neutrals. The major downside is that I got home sober and before midnight on a Friday night ;D
Some other suggestions for next season which might help boost attendances
- Change kick off time back to 7.45
- Try to avoid clashing with Champions League Tuesdays
- Open main bar earlier on Saturdays and make sure that football is shown on the big screen TV

Excellent idea's. Let's hope those with the power to effect the changes take notice.

Friday night worked really well I managed to get more people to come with me as possibly did others as the home attendance was def mainly Worthing fans. Can not see any reason though why we would need to play on Friday nights throughout a regular season. I noticed the O/S were interested in feedback!!!! I hope they are just curious if more people would come on a friday night than on a Saturday afternoon. NOT testing the water incase we clash home games on Saturdays if Horsham come to play at Woodside Road. For me Friday nights work as I know that i can get more people along with me and then out for a late curry somewhere, but i would not want to do it on a regular basis as Saturday afternoon IS football, whatever league you are in

Hmmm the Horsham theory is a scary one. If they got saturdays 3pm and shifted us to Fridays I wouldnt be adverse to it, but 2 first team games in 24 hours would rip the pitch to bits if conditions were not perfect.
As an occasional one off its one thing, but if regular it could be quite another. It's not terribly friendly to travelling fans (I know I wouldnt be happy about travelling to away games in North Kent fot a 7.45 k.o every week) so its a case of judging which games might be suitable.

ag48-two games on a water laden pitch would do it a lot of damage, however on the bright side, if you played first then you would suffer the least out of the two teams. A smaller traveling away support would affect the gate, however it could also affect the away team. As part-timers they would have to work and then travel here, getting no rest. some may even be unavailable if they have a long journey time. Your away games would of course still be on a Saturday. Has anyone from the club asked the local residents how they feel about even more late night footy (noise, parking, litter etc.)
In theory both teams should be able to have home games on alternate Saturdays.

I would hope that Friday Night does not happen too often, as I know several fans including myself who cannot or will not come. Though there were probably some new people there I believe that the gate would have been higher on Saturday as the message is getting round that play offs are now a real possibility, or a probability.
As far as groundsharing is concerned. I remember my old club groundsharing around 20 years ago, and though we always the senior club it was written into the lease that the landlords would always have priority with the exception of F.A. Cup and Trophy matches which always come before league fixtures, but if both sides were drawn at home the landlords had choice of saturday and the tennants had to play on Sunday.
Incidentally the rent, and this was 20 years ago, was £13,000 per season or roughly £500 per match. The Southern League said that it was too low and should have been at least £20,000. The downside was that Like Horsham the tennants expected to stay for two seasons, but due to planning permission being denied they actually stayed for ten years, and this caused all sorts of animosity between the respective fans which has lasted untill this day.
I do not know what the going rate is now.
