Yes I would also like to question Castra's statement that Danny La Roux "played" for us. He ran around in kit but was every part the Ali Dia. Needless to say another Bloor signing. As for the fans of BHTFC, they have my sympathies and I hope that they sort things out. However, Croydon is a dislikeable character, some of our fans were attacked by the local chavs last season (who if rumours are true were put in their place at the station) and on our first meeting this season Richard Hudson had his leg broken by Gainsford (animal) so it is hard to have any sympathy for the club itself.

Scarily, I was thinking the same as Ian. This must stop, I used to be full of optimism til I started agreeing with Mr Fowler. I too have sympathy for the actual fans, but very little for the club itself (and the aforementioned chavs).
And to be honest, I don't even remember La Roux playing for us - must have made an impact! If you'd said Florian Mateus, now there was a Frenchman who could play the beautiful game.

Have to agree, not a fan of Burgess Hill Fc in the least. I genuinely can't think of one redeeming feature of the club. They're nasty, violent, thuggish, and in a case we've just seen on their board, racist.
There ARE decent fans there I'm sure, but we just haven't met any of them.
Besides, the reason they're getting thrown out is non paymet of rent for years. There are hundreds or thousands of families getting thrown out their homes for non payment of rent and they certainly don't get the same support as a business (BHTFC) who have been thrown out their premises for non payment of rent.

Blimey, thats a bit harsh. as a Hillian fan i get on here from time to time to have a look at whats going on. With regard to the chavs and the Worthing fans getting attacked, that was appalling. As far as I can recall, they got in at half time and plonked themselves down with whoever was singing. They are trouble; the club house has been broken into before and the local housing receives regular visits from the Plod. I didnt hear about the Worthing fans being attacked until the next game, mainly because I saw they were hanging around, so I left quickly. They should have been thrown out of the ground when they arrived. Another reason why all of us would like our own ground. I dont think one instance of a defender doing a stupid, nasty tackle makes a club thuggish and violent. The ground and the lights were there before the houses. Gary Croydon is not the manager any more and hasnt been since about November. Are you saying that Jamie Howell is nasty and thuggish? There are some clubs in the Ryman that I do not like visiting and who I find deeply unpleasant. I dont recognise that in Burgess Hill. One fan saying something deeply stupid away from the club on an unoffical forum doesnt make, me, the club, or the rest of the supporters rascist. We all generalise but to summarise the club after an assault by local youths (try Hailsham on a friday night for some real action!), one stupid tackle, and a loud-mouthed manager who er isnt the manager any more is a tad unfair. I'll shut up now.

Like I say, nothing against the decent fans, of which I've been told there are some, but you can understand, our experience of BHTFC has been none too positive.
Jamie Howell is a very good manager you're lucky to have and I must admit I'd want him at the WFC set up.
Good luck to the decent BHTFC fans but I must admit I've never had a good, positive time at Leylands Park and neither have many Rebels.

Fair enough. I'll get back to the job in hand, finding somewhere where we can play. If we are still at Leylands Park (actually, just realised what Park is backwards!) will have to try and improve the ambience next year by installing a district councillor in some stocks and throwing mud at them (all for charitee of course) Good luck in the play-offs and hopefully next year you can give Dover a good stuffing
