Message from Junior: "Ben Johnson's goal was fab - he was outstanding today. And we're in the play offs!"

For today, read two weeks ago at Whyteleafe. First half was awful; neither team we at it at all and we looked second best. Second half we were much better and as the pressure built we finally managed to net two quick fire goals. A late Casuals penalty raised the blood pressure a little but we were not seriously threatened after that.
The weather reminded me of an away game in January not mid-April - please come back sunshine!
Plenty of Worthing support around the whole ground today (not just behind the goal), the attendance was 150; I would hazard a guess that half were Rebels.
Job done today, now we must continue the momentum against Ashford next week ready to take into the almost certain play-off semi-final at either Cray or Tooting & Mitcham.

Oh yes, on another note; it was great to see Kev back and on form at the game today.

Great scenes for both goals, with players coming over to fans and having big mosh.
Kirkwood's header was great, as was johnno's goal
Also mention for walton's keeper, gr8 sport, loved banana moments, though could have done without the pants.

Can anyone tell me what happened to Andy Alexander today and why he was not there.
I thought it took Ben a while to settle in at the back so i wondered if it was a last minute thing.
We deffinately missed the age and experience up front today. I think if you took Ben Andrews out of the team today then average age of of our team was about 19/20. That's impressive for any team at this level.
But we will definately need some older experienced regular players in the side if we are to go up as i would imagine that it is a bit more physical in the Prem and any league above that!
Good to see Richard Hudson kicking a ball around we the subs today that encouraging as well as Roy Pook on the Bench.
We don't want to mess with the team but it's good to see players coming back and ready for next season.

I concur with sparky's round up of the game. First half was awful, and a little bit concerning - if we play like that for 45 mins of the play off game/s we could get caught out.
Atmosphere second half was excellent, nice to see another keeper taking the banter well and silly celebrations for the two goals. Both centre halfs had effective and understated games, did the simple stuff pretty well. Rikki scares the hell out of me. He really has got to learn when to stick or twist.
I overheard that Andy A had a cold, so hopefully only a short term absence. I would say that of the 150 crowd well over half was Worthing.

Yeah, he did have a cold.
what a great day it was! Walton Casuals were a pretty decent side I thought, and one which will become a midtable Ryman south team next season I think, which is pretty decent for them.
Really enjoyed the atmosphere and look forward to carrying it on Saturday.
Well done to the players for their response to us as well, much appreciated, even the ref had a good day and the keeper is always a good laugh. Loved the submarine impression!
We do miss Ben A when he's at the back, as we lacked a bit of penetration without him there, but we did fantastically well regardless I'd say.
Had a bloody sore throat on Sunday too!

My lad was singing Alan Pook's Disco Shoes all the way back to worthing, so whilst my throat was ok I did have a hell of a headache... ;D
