From the bottom of the press release: "Worthing FC cannot comment on any other matters pertaining to the club at this time. A further press conference will be held within the next two weeks to announce further developments."
I thought like you, Mr Kent, but didn't want to detract from the efforts of Jon/A2B, the commercial people etc. That was fantastic news in itself, even if other big issues were sidelined. Incidentally, 3 new advertising hoardings were in evidence at last night's yoof game so even more has gone on commercially than the press conference suggested. With clubs threatened with non-existence all over the country at the moment (Rotherham, Bournemouth, Southwick, Burgess Hill), and groundsharing becoming the only viable way forward for others, it's refreshing to see people making an effort to keep Worthing afloat and sailing toward a brighter horizon.
So while congrats are due for that side of club affairs, as far as other issues are concerned we all know the score. Just keep paying the £8 and keep ya mouth shut seems to be the message from 'someone' at the club.

if we went up would it stay at 8 pounds or go up to nine. I paid £9 at bognor the other week so I think £8 it would stay. I wholeheartedly believe that the news yesterday is only the start. Im confident that something will be done with regard to improving the facilities, mainly the covering. Im sure we have to be a bit careful with covering due to the surrounding houses, unless its all low enough not to interfere with light etc. Re the groundshare, Im suprised that something official hasnt come out yet, but Im sure there are reasons. Even if a couple of minor issues need to be ironed out its best kept out of the public eye as far as the club is concerned so as not to cause any problems. Where was the space for new advertising hoardings? I thought we were pretty much booked up??

I do not like i am jumping the gun here but according to Alan Pook on Tuesday he said at the conference that there is an FA Stipulation that stops the club talking about the Horsham situation until after the 26th April, plus they did not want to deviate away from the main news that day!! The comments from both Horsham and the Ryman league jumped the gun a bit last week and that has got everyone desperate to know.
The reporter from the herald on Tuesday asked questions about Horsham and I would imagine that all of his answers, limited that they were, will be in the paper tomorrow.
There is to be another Board meeting next week that sould have the Horsham situation results included in the topics. If it does then i get to get the club to let the O/S release it first ond copy to the Forum so nobody reads it from anywhere else first.
I have made it very clear to the club about how upset the Worthing fans are about the way that this topic has been handled by the club. The problem is they did not want to stoke any fires with speculation unlike Horsham who are afterall desperate to know the answers.
Also there is everychance that the P/C will be on the Herald website on Thursday as they had a videographer there for their little herald TV that they do online.
The club are desperate to get some-one to liase with the fans and keep us in the loop. I have already put myself forward for this as I want to make sure that the THEM and US days are finished.
As Jim regularly puts Fans just pay your £8 and know nothing.
The club do want this to not be the case. Times are changing and I think a tiny bit more patients will be rewarded in many mays starting with the obvious the clubhouse.

Where was the space for new advertising hoardings? I thought we were pretty much booked up?? As you walk in thru the turnstyles, they're on the fences behind the goal, behind where Roger, Rebecca and Butch stand by the programme hut. There are 2 there, and another on the fence directly behind the east goal, so you weave between 2 new ones and arrive behind the other one. Easier to look on Saturday for yourself than for me to describe the position (obviously), but you couldn't miss them! The club are desperate to get some-one to liase with the fans and keep us in the loop. I have already put myself forward for this as I want to make sure that the THEM and US days are finished. As Jim regularly puts Fans just pay your £8 and know nothing. Fair play to you Jon, it's about time we were united - but not Worthing Utd, obviously. And regularly? I'm offended! I think I've said it twice, and both times to make an immature and petulant point. Unless you found my observations riveting and read them many times over, in which case I'm flattered. ;D

So it's been a quiet week then?? Can't leave the country for more than a few days without there being a minor revolution at the club! Having had a quick scan at everything, this appears to be fantastic news. Good luck to Jon (do I know you?) for having faith in the obvious potential that is Worthing FC. As for kits: As long as it's nothing that resembles that awful candy cane pink from the early nineties, (around the Gerry Armstrong era I believe), or anything that resembles kit from a certain place north of Croydon, I'm not too fussed. Should there be any spare pennies knocking about, I feel some work on the east terrace roof plus maybe a new extended one on the north side would be rather nice. The big challenge of course, is to get a few more bods through the gates on a regular basis. A lot of people have deserted Woodside Road over the last couple of seasons which is a shame. Let's hope Jon and his companies sponsorship restores the faith of the doubters and indeed, attracts new fans to Wood....oh ok then, "The A2B Worthing Stadium". More palatable than the Victor Gladwrap stadium at least! Roll on tomorrow afternoon!
