Talking about no/reduced crowds, you can't argue with the logic embedded in this...

That is a very well written letter with attached evidence to back up the points made.
It does seem crazy that at the Sportsfield in Littlehampton can have people on site watching cricket but as it currently stands the same venue cannot permit spectators when a football game is on. Clubs staging friendlies at the moment must be losing money by the time they have paid for officials etc.
The 'Let Fans In' campaign and the media coverage created by Dorking Wanderers will hopefully lead to a change in the guidelines. Many clubs have tweeted their support which is good to see. The DCMS seem to have lumped all levels of football together when making their current ruling although I have read that one of the problems with football restarting with fans is that singing and chanting may spread the virus.
Steps 5 and 6 club officials have been asked to attend a Zoom meeting on Monday, the day before the FA Cup draws are due to be made. Many are surmising they are going to be informed that they will have their FA Cup entries rescinded as the start date will pushed back leading to the early rounds being cancelled.
Surely if it is safe for 2 squads of players who are not routinely tested for the virus to play then it is safe for limited fans to attend as long as the hosting club has all the required Covid risk assessments in place.

Good to see the club get behind this! Hopefully we will be allowed back into grounds sooner rather than later.

The link doesn't work now and there is nothing I can see on the official site re prices; I wonder if a rethink isn't being contemplated or even pausing to see what form the season will take. As an aside, guess what? That's right, naff all news from the leagues or FA about any rule changes etc That link was indeed quickly taken down. But I've kept looking and up on the club site now are the ST prices and the matchday prices. As far as I can recall from the ST prices I saw before the link disappeared, they're the same as they were. So no rethink or significant pause. I think all existing season ticket holders have been emailed about next season and sent a link to purchase.
I have received one and renewed.
The link isn't yet posted on the club site so I'm assuming the club are given people the chance to renew first before it opens up to everyone.
I wonder whether actual season ticket cards will be issued or will we just have to show a barcode on our phones at the turnstiles to be scanned.

At the moment they are only processing renewals and I understand from the weekend it will then be open to everyone else and the link will be put on the website.

It also confirms that the online purchase of tickets is very much in the thoughts of the club regarding covid compliance when we get going again.

Details on the various start date scenarios listed.
Few alternatives including scrapping the playoffs and divisions split in half depending on when it all gets going.
No mention of what happens if it starts on time and gets disrupted midway through, or what will be happen if the season cannot be completed.

FFS, why can't they get their heads around the fact that the contingency planning needs to happen now, not when an eminently possible crisis occurs and different clubs seek different solutions depending on their own particular situation/league position at that time.
The announcement today is very much welcome but, as ww says, does nothing to address what has actually happened last season and caused so much anger, unnecessary legal expenditure and heartbreak.
Would any company want to work with (as a sponsor) such a bunch of incompetents

FA Youth Cup draw announced today. Worthing at home to Guildford City, scheduled to take place week commencing 7 September. Looks like this will be the first competitive game under the new floodlights. Will anyone be allowed to watch!? Winners away to Newhaven or South Park.
