It won't be for a couple of weeks as the club's season doesn't finish until the Women have concluded their epic battle with Ebbsfleet for the L&SER Championship. But the migration to the '23/24 threads' will be done thereafter (Players, U18's, Women etc.) and hopefully the League constitutions will have been sorted out meaning the NLS Forum links can be updated.
In the meantime any feedback of what is or isn't working would be greatly appreciated, as well as any ideas (within reason!) of new things you think might enhance the site.
For example the U18's thread didn't get much heat this season. Partly that's my fault, so with lots of things going on for me (on and off site), would anyone like to help out and commit to keeping it updated for 23/24?
The academy got nothing, i'll bin that.
The Women's thread also doesn't seem to get much interest. That however i'll keep a personal commitment to... whether there's interest on here for it or not! There's a historical, nay cultural hurdle to overcome with the Women's game and it needs pushing. Times they are a changin' and our club, like clubs nationwide, is keenly pushing our Womens team forwards... and its not as if ours aren't doing rather well either!!
You may also have noticed the lack of polls created this season. That was down to now historic low participation in them making it not really worth the effort (less than 10% of the 'readership' voting). So thank you to those who have historically got involved with them, and there's absolutely nothing stopping anyone starting them... if I can work it out, you can too!
But with 'work' commitments increasing for me from September my available spare time will be reduced. With that already half in mind in around February time, when the site was as flat as a pancake despite the club being upwardly mobile in the NLS Play-offs, I made the decision to walk away completely at the end of this season. Its only because the last month or so participation has shot up, especially so from new and returning posters that I'm not.
It'll tail off as usual now until the pre-season friendlies, that's just inevitable. But please... my boring annual plea... pretty please, don't be a lurker, please get involved more in 23/24.
Thank you, K.

Agreed it’s great to see the fourm active again!
Think I have been on here since 2009 and must have posted a handful of times from 2019 - last few months!
But now it’s great to see the engagement and debate and love for Worthing FC and long May this continue.
My only feedback and I may be alone is I’m not a fan of the combined cup thread eg SSC I much prefer individual match threads as find it easy to have a quick read of what’s going on, as I say I may be alone in that view so would be good to hear what others think
Aside from that Keithson you have done a cracking job keep it up!!

Thanks Keithsson for all you have done and continue to do. The 'newbies' and 'returners' have added some broader perspectives which is to be valued.
As a forum, I think there is generally a lot of agreement within the posts and any disagreement is usually fair and respectable... as it should be, and unlike some forums out there!
Shout out to Kenty for his stats too!

Where their can always be difference of opinion its always done as a friendly debate and fair and respectful. Another reason to love our wonderful little club!

Thanks Keithson for everything you do. I personally really enjoy this forum. Find it very interesting to see what other people think/see. And I agree with the women’s thread. We went again this afternoon and really enjoyed it. Just wish there were more people attending.

Must add my appreciation. The post match check of the message board really adds to my enjoyment of the Worthing FC experience, as does of course the pre-match profile of the opponents. I am also impressed with the generally balanced and sane character of all the regular posters.

"generally balanced and sane" I'm not sure we as a fanbase have ever been accused of that before, how very dare you sir!!!!!!!!!!

With STs continuing to include Women's and U18s games hopefully more fans will start to come down and in turn those threads will gather more momentum.

Thank you all for the feedback.
I shall give your suggestion a go next season Phil (individual threads for cup games). In truth they were only combined in the first place because participation was so very low at the time. Now everyone is participating a bit more, that'll clearly no longer be the case! 🤞🏻😆
The links to all the other 23/24 clubs forums on the 'Worthing Directory' page will have to wait as I've completely run out of time this morning. 'No biggy' if not but if anyone would like to share the load a bit at some point, and find the forum URL's for the following clubs for me in advance of me editing the list, I'd be eternally grateful...
Aveley Maidstone United Torquay United Truro City Weston-super-Mare AFC Yeovil Town
The thread pruning though has all been done ready for the new season... it seems like an age away but in truth the first published friendly (so far) is only 48 days and i'm sure there'll be one even sooner.
Have a great Summer Rebels 😎

Loads of facebook groups, but no active forum. Hope the above helps

You asked, we delivered... the WFC Directory thread now includes a few stats as requested. Many thanks to pauld for his assistance... he's thorough!! While I was there I binned a couple of links... 1) The 'season by season' stats link which had been up for a while i'm now informed isn't as reliable as we'd need it to be. 2) The Conference Nomad Forum link... it sadly seems to have gone the way of so many other forum and has withered on the vine. This one is going strong though so thank you, and, as ever, if there's anything else you want/don't want please let us know.
