You may possibly notice a similarity to said targets for last season
1. Avoid relegation 2. Be the top Sussex non league club 3. Reach the FA Cup 1st round 4. Reach the FA Trophy 4nd round proper 5. Increase the average gate over last season
Thoughts anyone?

I'd take FA Cup 1st round over top Sussex club any day!
No promotion though? Think that will be a target but going to be a tough league.

Yeah, I can go with those Kenty.
Target #1 should always be to stay up. I think last year I said I wasn't all that fussed about Eastbourne Borough but now its 'Humans v AI' that'll matter more to me.
Now as hard as it'll be to achieve, its no longer our first NLS rodeo, so as Bally suggests there must be some aspiration in there towards at least continuing year on year progress/development too.
I personally feel we face a 'difficult second album' situation this season but having improved or equalled our position for five seasons in a row we should be targeting that achievement again. So I'd add on...
6) Get 78 points or more/finish 4th or higher.
Because of that 'difficult second album' scenario we face I also feel the attendance target will be a very tough ask. But targets shouldn't be set because they're easy, quite the opposite.

Agree with all what you said Kenty. Would be nice to have a semi final play off at home this time.
With regards to attendance I feel it might be a struggle. There was a drop after we won the league. Which you can expect. The only way I can see the average attendance going up will be a season where we will be contenders for the tittle. But also it all depends on factors outside our controls. Ie is Brighton playing on the same day, how many games will be played on a Tuesday night.

The now lack of pre-matchday discount on top of the price increase. The now season long lack of any cover from the elements at the St Elmo end. How the club handles enforcing the new 'no standing areas' in some of the most popular standing locations. Little things one and all...but they all add up. Edit: Just thought of another one too, marketing and promotions. Not something that we notice greatly as we've got our fingers on the pulse as to when the games are on. But speaking to a friend who runs a local business and has always supported the club in this way, he's astonished no flyers (for shop fronts/pubs and the like) went out ahead of the pre-season games. Bognor, and arguably Hashtag, might've yielded some added casual trade. He anticipates from past experience that some time in mid/late August the August/September fixtures flyer will appear... a couple of home league games and three pre season friendlies after the season has started. Anyway, we digress. Just pointing out everything is not entirely out of the clubs control.

One thing I noticed on Saturday was the amount of season tickets waiting to be collected. I didn’t count them but there were a few. Would be nice to know how many were sold though. Also a few clubs do the 4 for a score. Ticket, drink , food and programme. I think that is a very good offer. Not sure if it would work for the club due to the pricing structure. But there must be someone at the club who can think of something similar and come up with a name. And to go one further we are the mackerels. So why not sell a “fish burger”. Could be a fish finger sandwich but it is something different.

Well as you mention it then, here's just one... could've bundled Bognor/Hashtag/Gosport into a pre-season package for say £15 or so. If you'd paid already you'd be far more likely to have braved the weather on Saturday... and would buy food/drink whilst there so the £6 difference would be clawed back, and probably more. This is what Horsham did this pre-season.
Here's two... we suffer big drops in attendance midweek, especially when at home Sat/Tue or Tue/Sat. Why not try a discounted package linking the two games?... say £25 rather than the £32 it would've been. That'd be enough for many to go to a midweek game they wouldn't otherwise have bothered with... and again would spend that £7 on food/drink anyway.
So much more could be done with a little bit of imagination and foresight.
But having now extended this digression yet further I'm off to birch myself as punishment, sorry Kenty 🙏🏻

I did ask the club a year ago if they could do a ticket for (say) fifteen games like a coffee card as I can’t make evening games due to a lack of public transport in my area but I heard nothing as to weather that would be an option. I also think that having watched Bognor on Sat they may? Be on an upward spiral and could take away a floating supporter, but Worthing is my no one watch may I say.

We have lost Hamlet and Ebbsfleet who both brought a decent support. Concord, Cheshunt, Oxford and Hungerford didn't exactly travel in numbers and Torquay, Yeovil and Maidstone should all bring more than a few to Woodside

Target 2, to be top Sussex Non League club, achieved again.
For info, last year this was achieved on April 24th.
Well done all

Just trying to do the maths. If Eastbourne is ticked off tonight, could target 1 be achieved in the next week? 🤔
