I think the thinking behind the recruitment was to go for quality and skillful additions, which is reasonable but once you add it up there isn't enough muscle in the squad and anyone who gets in people's faces and is a bit intimidating! I'm not going to be critical of Hinsh and his recruitment here, he's done wonders for us and he knows what we need, just clearly some of the additions haven't shown the grit he expects! I completely agreed. It's not like this the sqaud has been thrown together. There has been some planning involved . The manager only knows if it works when the players are out on the pitch.

Skillful 'flair' players have never been renowned for their grit, they can only 'do their thing' on firm and steady bedrock. If you want to bring out their best, you need to have horrible little π©'s of a player providing that platform. But hey, we're discussing elsewhere the difficulties faced by going up. So if it takes next summer, or even the summer after as well to swing the recruitment priorities towards the π©tier end of the stick to balance the team up, then so be it. If we were the finished article now, it'd just bring on a whole heap of other problems. We've been quiet all season, when you listen to our games the only voices you hear are the oppositions. This isn't an issue that started yesterday.

And this is the time to have a player like Buddie. Always in the middle of things and very vocal. Yes he did pick up a few yellows but you cold never question his commitment when the going was though!

Froome supporters complaining of lack of class, poor losers, when Worthing refused their post match hospitality of food and drink. I don't like hearing this, for me that's actually worse than losing the game. You can lose football matches, that happens, but our reputation and dignity should always be a given. I'd like to think that could be explained as a misunderstanding. With a long trip back maybe we always intended to leave straight afterwards and that simply wasn't communicated properly between the clubs. But in the absence of clarity and with the post pens/tannoygate melee, we come away looking bad βΉ I saw a couple of our players about 15 minutes after the end of the match and they were saying that their showers weren't working - no idea how/if this situation was resolved, but maybe that was the straw that broke the camel's back. Also, I wonder if they knew there was food afterwards; this is not always the case at NLS level. Did anyone have a good view of the post-match kerfuffle? From a distance I saw their fans come over the fence and their players rush over and next thing I saw was Roco having to be extracted from the middle of it.

Hemel, Eastbourne, Truro, Tonbridge all went out to lower division opposition today. As did Alfreton... Horsham through, Whitehawk knocked Lewes out and Bognor still in as they didn't play Looking on the bright side, it does mean that our trip to Truro in mid-January won't be postponed because of a Trophy 4th round tie.

Get in Michael klass π Just what we needed, a quick reply after the break, need to capitalise now on their inevitable deflation after such a strong first half. Edit: OR NOT!! ...another 'keeper moment' by the sounds of it (2-1) π€¦π»ββοΈ Was it definitely Klass that got our first equaliser? I thought it was Joel...

Wasn't there an issue with tannoy music coming on when the last pen was taken which won the game??

Wasn't there an issue with tannoy music coming on when the last pen was taken which won the game?? Yeah, that happened, but I can't see it as being anything other than an accident. In any event its as likely, if not more likely, to put off the kicker as it is the keeper. So with no malice and no advantage I can't see that prompting the final whistle shenanigans. The players only come out of it looking like sore losers if they cling to that as an excuse.

I think things would look completely different had Aarran not been injured. Losing the best defender in the division (would walk into any side in the one above) is a massive blow. Harrison and Aarran were the spine of the side. Sometimes you don't appreciate what you had till it's gone!

With St Albans also going out it would make sense to move our home fixture with them forward to Saturday 9th rather than Tuesday 12th December.

To be honest Arran has had a few shaky moments this season before he got injured, but that was down to the style of play we have adopted this season. I agree we miss his leadership though .

Very, very fortunate to take the game to a penalty shootout. Frome should have put the game to bed in the first 45, took the lead and missed a fair few further opportunities. Our one shot on target was a tame effort from Luque.
An improvement in the 2nd half as we managed to get some shots on target, though most were hit straight at their keeper (who rightfully was voted their MOM)
Grabbed a decent leveller, great work from Ollie, who worked tirelessly throughout, and a bullet header from, Joel I thought, though the goal has been given to Klass. Frome were still a threat going forward and another awful mistake from Rocco, totally misjudging the bounce, allowed a simple finish to put them back ahead.
More shots from us and more saves from their keeper followed, a clear goal for them denied, if you see the picture on Twitter, with the ball clearly over the line before the last kick of the 90 saw Ollie fire home a brilliant free kick.
Penalties are always a lottery, both sides missing their first pens, Frome scored the remainder of their kicks with ourselves missing one to give them a deserved victory.
Some unsavoury scenes at the end, no idea what kicked it off, with Bailey the only player to acknowledge the travelling fans.
It appears we are in a very difficult place now. The form of late has been very inconsistent, Rocco is woefully out of form and low in confidence and despite having a defensive coach we are still conceding far too many goals. It was evident yesterday, particularly in the first half, that we hardly played out from the back, lost count of the aimless ball smashed to the halfway line from Rocco. No idea whether that's an instruction from Hinsh or the fact the pitch was heavy.
2 tough away games to follow this week. Not sure what to expect regarding team selection but 2 clean sheets and 2 victories would be very welcome.
