Cock-up at the back, Ollie rolling a pen down the middle, it's gonna be one of those days I fear ☹ Need a big reaction from the kick off. Need to get someone on the pitch to up the tempo a bit. Very slow play today.

Well that was an afternoon to forget. 1st goal, not sure how many we conceded like that this season, second goal not sure what happened. Third goal was a decent goal. Again not sure what happened with Pearce his penalty. That could have been the turning point. Let’s forget about today and hope for a better team performance on Tuesday.

I think it's one of those days, we just looked really off it and leggy!!
We knew what was coming from Taunton though, low block, sit back and absorb pressure, get a goal on the break! They did that well! 3rd goal was a good goal but other than that 2 muck ups at the back again!!
Feel with Jeffries or Wright in goal we don't lose that game sadly!

I'm gonna have to compose my thoughts for a while and try again later.
I'm still numb right now, haven't seen anything that bad for a very long time.

Just feeling a bit 'meh' about it all. Bit flat, more costly mistakes and Cashman looking more frustrated than I've seen before.
Work hard and enjoy playing should see a good team reply on Tuesday

No patterns, no partnerships, and not a great deal until the end in terms of structure. I'm not without hope; we had these games with Hinsh, particularly after a big effort midweek, but we need to be better.
Thought Cam Tutt had a good game and it was nice to see a left back in that position. Otherwise, not many >5/10 performances...
Going to forget this one and look forward to Tuesday... My Dad is moving this way and he's only seen us win so expecting 3 points...

There was fatigue there for sure...
No excuses though...

So many players behind the ball, 2 holding midfielders in front of a rigid back 4, that's not the Worthing we know and love. We do not have the players to play that way. Worthing go 1v1 at the back, make the pitch big, have full backs roll into midfield, get the 10's on the half turn and utilise all the attacking players on the bench. Modern successful football.
Footballers never cease to amaze me. How you can play hundreds of matches for one manager and not understand how you've been successful is astounding. At least it provides greater urgency to find the new manager.

They LOOKED fatigued but there's absolutely no reason to BE fatigued, they had last weekend off and haven't played since Monday. Here's where it fell down for me. Its not the pants goals conceded it was the forward play, and the whole pace we played at. Admittedly I came in later today but there seemed to be a lot of standing around chatting in the part of the warm-up I saw. Did I just miss the intense passing 'mini game' in front of the bar? Their goals. We concede poor goals nearly every home game. Today...1) closed down defensively, 2) a keeper error 3) a totally unchallenged header in the box... been there, seen that, got all those t-shirt this season. We let Dover have four of em, its not that. What was missing is that usually we outscore our error count. You can't bemoan luck, because you make your own luck. But whether its the post the bar or the many high wide and handsomes, we simply didn't work their keeper. In his post match interview Aarran talks about our possession and chances stats but apart from the penalty save I can't really remember him properly saving anything, he just 'threw his cap' on a couple of skudders. The tempo wasn't right somehow, the flicks and tricks which often come off, were missed by colleagues. It was like they weren't on the same wavelength, they were reading a different script. And what was Ollie doing rolling a penalty down the middle. Was he showboating? He always smacks it in a corner, usually after doing the keeper with his eyes. Bad day at the office?, well hopefully. But off the back of the result of the season allowing a team who hadn't won in about ten games to drive home with a comfortable three points is one HELLUVA bad day. We'll see what the reaction is on Tuesday, because they need to be 200% sharper and 500% more clinical. You can't polish a turd or even roll it in glitter by falling back on shots off target and possession stats... we didn't work the keeper and they GAVE us all that possession by keeping us at arms length. Could've been worse, Braintree and Hampton only drew, but as I write Chelmsford are romping over Truro. So that's all the grip from biting at their ankles lost by coughing up a giant furball of a result today. Aarran post match - YouTubeTalking of polishing a turd, listen how the interviewer spins a positive out of Ollie Wright being out for 3-5 weeks 🙄

Sorry there's another itch I have to scratch too. The reason why I'm so annoyed by today...
You see Monday made me believe. They say 'its the hope that kills you', and as someone previously terrified of promotion, since the final whistle at Chelmsford i'd turned.
And when the plans for the North Side were released on weds(?) I full on wanted National League football next season... have a go, get that rudeboy built and the worst that happens is we come straight back down with a Harry Spankers new stand and a year's worth of experience.
Now however the thought of 'accidentally' getting promoted terrifies me once again.
We've had these results all season, two steps forwards and one step back. But something about the juxtaposition of our best result followed immediately by pretty much our worst result has wiped out the confidence I'd built from Monday.

Very hard to put a finger on what actually went wrong today. We had almost the same personnel but never looked like the exciting, chance creating side that we have grown accustomed to. Maybe, in the search to become more solid at the back we sacrificed our normal attacking instincts because we never really looked as exciting going forwards. Impossible to disguise the fact, that was a really disappointing display and a potentially damaging result.
With the DNA embedded in this team, its a hard task to suddenly ask them to suddenly curb their normal attacking instincts. I am sure that Aaron and Co, will have learnt from today and hopefully a better performance on Tuesday.
