Instead of this incessant self promotion I wish our social media people would use their platforms to condemn the unilateral decision taken by the FA and Premier League as many clubs, including some in our division, are doing.

That's the 4th round proper that will stretch from Friday to Wednesday, I think, unless I have misread it. Of course, the "extra funding" for grassroots football is all smoke-and-mirrors, as non-league clubs will lose revenue from replays and TV money from those replays. Also, when I was secretary, 5% of the receipts from all replays between 1st and 6th rounds proper would be shared equally between all non-league sides that reached the 1st rounds proper: not sure if this was still happening, but it certainly won't be when there are no replays!

Many EFL clubs have issued statements condemning the proposals in the strongest terms. I would hope that National League clubs could also do this.

Every single club involved in the FA cup could put a statement out that they disagree with the decision. However I really can’t see this decision being changed. The FA have shown already they are not there for any grassroots team. And reversing the decision will mean they got it wrong and they will never admit to that.
They killed a once famous great cup competition with one single change. I remember being only 8 or 9 back home watching the FA cup final on Dutch tv.

What would happen if all the lower league clubs simply refused to play in the FA Cup?
Statements saying they disagree with this ruling are all very well, but actively refusing to play any FA Cup fixtures would make a bigger splash, possibly.

It wouldn't even be noticed by the powers that be. A good suggestion that Marc White discussed was a lower league having the choice to play away and cash in. Sadly the magic of the cup might not be enough to combat the elitism but I hope a solution can be found!

Still nothing from Worthing on the matter. Too wrapped up in our own self importance it would seem. Shame!

There wouldn't be much of an FA Cup left if all the EFL and non-league clubs said shove it we're not playing.

There is massive difference in putting a statement out stating how disappointing the decision is. They don’t agree with it etc etc. But when it comes to it next year they all will be taking part again!

"rebellious".... bit of leap to suggest the club are "too wrapped up in their own self importance" to put out an official statement. Do you have evidence to that effect or do you just enjoy being critical.

The solidarity of clubs is very important!
