Also I thought their manager was very classy when be went around applauding the Worthing crowd. Not many managers will do that. Shows what a man he is really.

Get the flip in, I'm exhausted and ecstatic... ecsthausted? π€
The game itself?...
Maidstone fans, its too late to change the outcome but the number you need to call is 0800 555 111... Crimestoppers π
But on occasions like this its irrelevant, sometimes the gods are just smiling on you and nothing can stop you.
Joe Felix, we are not worthy, just build the statue now Barry ππ»
Side note... nothing I didn't suspect already, but George Elokobi, what an individual.
Any other manager, rightly today, would feel hard done by from that game and would skulk off to kick the dressing room door. George stayed on the pitch long after his entire squad and staff had left just to applaud our team off, and applaud our fans on the balcony.
If he were ever a Rebel manager we'd be in fantastic hands, just the sort of personality to galvanise good vibes.
Enjoy tonight Rebels, one game to go ππ»

Thought Kodi Lyons-Foster was excellent today. The arial battles he won is something we have lacked until recently. Combined with Ollie Wright's dominance, I was less worried about them pinning our full backs and getting crosses into the box than usual. Everyone gave it their all and despite being under the cosh for a lot of the second half, though that was 2 decent teams and a good battle.
Thought the turning moment was Brad coming off, we just didn't have that outlet and they started to dominate but Felix to Pearce and it's all over!!!!!
Class from Elokobi to applaud us home fans. Decent manager and bloke is he!
Well done the club for doing the occasion so well.
This is how it feels to be Worthing, This is how it feels to be red...!

Wowsers. As already mentioned I personally thought it invited the pressure when Brad went off and we switched to a wingback formation.
We were under the cosh with the wind and Maidstone threw everything at us. The Ollie Pearce factor though, what a goal and what a finish to the game.

"Felix to Pearce"... hmmm π€
Not wishing to pee on the parade but I think we should bottle the atmosphere and occasion of today, and thoroughly enjoy what may not come in the next eight days too...
...because this very well may be as good as it gets for us for some while.
Up or down its all change this summer and its a rebuild with a new squad and a new permanent manager, maybe even in a new league.
And that's exactly what crossed my mind shirtly after that goal (well, once my mind had stopped jumping up and down going nuts of course).
Next season we may very well not have a Felix to win that possession up the pitch, may very well not have a Pearce to twist and turn a goal out of that situation.
Genuinely its a π not a βΉ to observe we should perhaps capture these moments, these feelings of joy, and really treasure them.
Today was the culmination (so far!) of our rise from the lower reaches of the ILPD, through that league and maybe though this one too.
Success can come at a cost though and the break-up of this most distilled version of Hinsh's blueprints will mean days like today (and possibly Monday week) should be fully savoured.
So enjoy it everyone, these are the good times π

congratulations to both teams on the entertainment today . Felix in my opinion MOM by a mile , kane played his quite masterful confident self & seems to have that bit longer than others on the ball . . The defence had there hands full the whole game but stuck to it although everytime they had a corner my heart beat faster & harder . Sadly virgs i thought Brad struggled against a strong unit today & in my opinion just lacked that experience . Maidstone & there manager are a real credit & enjoyable team to watch & i wish them well next season . Sadly ive heard talk that Joe is off to York with Our old keeper from Dorking ( Harrison male ) . But lets just enjoy today & wish worthing all the best in the final . congratulations to the management aswell .

But money talks, especially when it's potentially being waved under their noses by their former manager, and, in truth, I wouldn't begrudge any of those lads a move to a 'bigger' club. Whether we get promoted or not, it's going to be an interesting close season, and my natural pessimism inclines me to agree that this might be as good as it gets for a while.

Yeah, I thought Brad did all he could against a Goliath, but as FIFA frown on the use of catapults he was never going to win much.
We'll definitely have more of the same next time and the only other option up top is Greg Luer. Now, I can't believe I'm actually typing this but the one good thing he's got in his game is winning headers with his back to goal π
It'd be a ballsy move, the crowd wouldn't be happy about it, but needs must if (more like when) we're getting no change out of big CB's again. Luer to flick on/hold up and Ollie to feed off the fruits of his endeavours *IS* a legitimate option.
OMG, I feel dirty now I've observed that π

And that, is to their eternal credit ππ» The optimist in me (yes, there is one!) is clinging to the hope that all these 'rumours' are just them covering their options should we not go up... and that if we do go up, some or all may yet stay ππ»

No pessimism here. We've just got to manage our 5 year adjustment. We were a big club, with a big budget and big crowds. A scalp for lesser teams to burgle as did happen. The Isthmian days are over and we are no longer these things relative to the company we want to keep in the next 5 years. That's ok. We still play good football.
I'd rather burgle a few away days in front of 8k fans and remain financially sound than not go and dip our toe if we deserve it!
Still 90 minutes to go until we see where our cards lie!

Only three of that team were with us at the end of the previous season and most of the others have joined during the season. It is possible to completely rebuild the team over the summer and still be competitive in NL or NLS. Good players want to play for Worthing!

I'm confident that if we do go up we 'could' keep the majority of the squad!! Cash has played at that level and not found success, Joe Felix is unproven at a step up, as is Ollie and Joel! If we go up then I reckon those guys may well stay and prove themselves, this club has a heavier weighting than we realise!!

We've all got our worries, to a greater or lesser degree, about what lies ahead. But literally no-one has suggested we shouldn't go up Bally. 90/120/120(+pens) minutes of football will decide our league next season and what will be will be π

An even first half but Maidstone much better than us in the second. Oh so hope Joe stays with us-such a pleasure to watch. Quite a lump in my throat at the end with Stones clapping us and we were applauding them off the pitch too. Also their manager doing the same. Win or lose against Braintree I hope we are as convivial. Spoke to a few groups of Stones supporters outside afterwards with them wishing the best for the final and in turn wishing them well and a safe trip back. All that and Ollie's goal at the end....has me reaching for the Kleenex.
