The fundraiser is fan led and independent from the club FYI The club have put it on their socials today FYI. The club can share and promote it via their social media channels even if it is independent from them as a club. I wasn't trying to be rude at all, just felt it was valuable to share.

The Argus, Talksport, comedians. What have we become? A very successful football club is the easy and obvious answer to that question.

The Argus, Talksport, comedians. What have we become? A very successful football club is the easy and obvious answer to that question. As a regular listener to Talksport, Baker has been talking a lot about Torquay. Which I am in favour of as he keeps bringing non league to a bigger audience on the radio. With regards to his comments about Cashman it seems to me more a case of giving out the banter and not really happy receiving it back. Or wait could it be jealousy that we actually have a team that play lovely football and we actually love our manager? Or could it be both?

As a regular listener to Talksport ............. What have we become? I have already given my opinion on that. I guess the question is, what do YOU think we have become. Apart from a "parks side" as you mentioned in a previous post.

I think this is brilliant for the club, let's face it 5 years ago you wouldn't be expecting us to beat Torquay twice in a regular league season no? Now we are getting national coverage because we have great players who are tearing opposition teams apart!! We have a live televised game coming up, great crowds, players want to come and play for us and the fans value that! I don't really get why there is anything negative about this? If an increased presence across the board isn't what you want then this might be the wrong club to follow because we are on a fantastic upward trajectory! I've followed this club for 20 years and went to games where 50 people turned up, I loved it then ( hence why I went ) but I still love it now and I value what this club has become! A Town the size of Worthing deserves this and long may it continue and we develop in the right way, which we are under great ownership and a great manager!

I am so pleased that my comments live long in the memory, but if you are going to use them at a later date could you at least be accurate in their reproduction! As most will have gathered "What have we become?" is, like most of my questions, a purely rhetorical one!

If I'm being honest, it felt like you weren't happy with that scenario and where the club finds itself in regards to the comments and promotion it now gets. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but that's how it came across to myself and it would appears others felt that way. No offence but if you don't want people to give an honest answer, maybe don't make the comment in the first place. Its very easy for things to be lost in translation as a piece of text online.

Ok Mate, I know when I'm not wanted. Should you ever need some objectivity in future, just let me know! I have nothing against your views, it's a free country and your entitled to that. But honestly it feels like you don't want to hear people's honest answers and how they feel about the position the club is now in. There is alot of positivity around the club currently and beating big sides like Torquay will only raise the profile and our brand of football will get people talking about us, and there is alot to pride ourselves on because of that! I'm happy we are being talked about, as are the majority of supporters because for years we languished playing pretty turgid football on turgid pitches and playing Fleet away on Saturday and taking 25 fans with us! ( Ross Trelevan scored a cracking free kick that game though 😂 ) I have never once tried to be rude and say your opinion isn't valid, ofcourse it is and I will be critical when there is a time to be and I have this season even though we are flying, but I fail to see the negatives in overtly positive press. People are talking about us because we stand out and are doing the right thing, be more worried when people aren't talking about us!!

Jack Spong was also doing some fitness work before todays game. The ex Brighton U21 midfielder has recently been released by Queens Park.
Ex Brighton U21 keeper Toby Bull has signed for Wealdstone.

Also see despite being recalled that Ricky is getting nowhere near Swindons squad... utterly pointless recall!
