Totally agree with yourpost markg re these players leaving but to me the statement of the club at the moment is what's the thought of getting shot of Rents / Cranie two quality players who were not going to move up divisions ? It seems to me we have a ship with lots of holes and sinking fast !!!!! For me, this can be the most frustrating part of the year with players moving around causing uncertainty. But Keithsson is right - it is still May and we haven’t seen what talent Adam will be bringing in yet. You are right to be concerned about the potential impact of the absence of Rents and Crane - we need some elder statesmen (preferably with a bit of bulk) who can play a leadership role for our relatively young squad but also provide a strong physical presence on the pitch. Let’s see what June brings. Keep the faith.

Again , completely understand your reply - to some point - BUT ( always a but ) my thoughts are you have a manager who we don't know if he has brought into this idea of two / three steps forward one step back . Let's just say that you are a very good player and a club in Worthing position come in for you , are you seriously telling me that you would join ? You want to be in a team that has thoughts of promotion etc . Are we just going to develop players for other clubs ? That is of course - if the board , manager , fans are happy with that , so be it !!!!

It is not really a surprise that any of these 3 have moved on. They have all gone up the pyramid and so good luck to them. Personally, I am not at all worried at the moment. If our best players were leaving to join clubs at our level then that would be a cause for concern. In the case of Crane, he was told he would not be getting the game time he wanted, so in effect it was the club's decision that made up his mind. However, I will start to worry if we get to August and we haven't got an experienced keeper (I agree with earlier comments about Kleton, I nearly made him my player of the season). I'm sure Adam and the guys are well aware of what is required and will be working hard to make us competitive again next season.

Clubs higher up the pyramid clearly have Worthing on their radar for the way they try to bring through good younger players, and so it is a compliment, (disappointing as it is for us fans to lose good exciting players), to the way the club is developing. As these three were clearly amongst our more talented footballers my bigger question would be did the club gain any benefit financially from losing Lucas, David and Kwame ? If the club actively wants talented players to progress would they not have been contracted in some way to us such that we would receive at least some small fee for them that would then go into the playing budget for next season to help us replace them?

The addressing of the situation doesn't do much to diffuse any fears but I suppose it says all it needs to say. It's brilliant for the individual players to be given those moves and it will certainly reflect well on the club. I do feel that we will struggle to recruit to replace them, which is probably obvious given players of their level aren't easy to find. The goalkeeper issue should be the primary focus, I wonder if Kleton would want to return? No doubt he was aware of the situation he faced by coming in, but maybe he felt with his performances he may have changed minds.
Let's hope we can get the likes of Ricky and Jasper on contracts, they'll be the next stars to be poached by clubs above, perhaps as a club we can earn a bob or two.

Needs to get 3 or 4 players in and pay them decent wages. It’s really that simple. If you’re that good you won’t be on 50 quid a week for the rest of your life. Also the local players line is wearing a bit thin now, why should that matter? Funny when a club offers more money players forget where they come from. Annoying seeing the likes of Harvey Sparks playing really well at Horsham and was ghosted out at Worthing. He walks back in that current Worthing 11. Some real issues at the club for me, and the majority of the fans swallow whatever is said. I’ve seen players doing nothing for weeks and continue to be picked. I’ll let you think about why that is.

Tiptoes......your spot on. There are a few us that follow The Worthing home and away who think that we can’t rely on Youth alone and whilst yes we are building something I want to see yes win. Personally I’m glad David has moved on because I don’t think he was that good consistently and tried t9 do too much where a simple pass would have been better.

Chairboy's description of David 'tries to do too much when a simple pass would be better' reminded me of someone else.....ah yes, none other than Lloyd Dawes!!! Having said that, I reckon Dawes is more of a poacher and will score more goals, so I'm not displeased. Looks like we are shaping up well with the squad now.
