I’m a firm believer that Worthing don’t want to go up. Who’s gonna put all the money in that’s requied if they did? Tis far as promotion goes half the fans wouldn’t even know what league we’re in. It would be interesting to ask 200 people randomly. Like Vertigate said people head along for a relaxing atmosphere, laid back attitude and to see 11 players running around representing Worthing. Tell you what tiptoes. Tiptoe off go watch Bognor I suspect you are a Bognor fan mong.

Zac newton joins Horsham - can't help but feel that's an opportunity missed for us . I don't know about anyone else but everything about Worthing feels a bit flat . Have I missed the announcement about a new keeper ? I feel like the season is coming along and our expectations are - let's just see how we do - perhaps a top 10 finish and the club will be happy !!!!

Does seem strange last session we moved heaven and earth to get him on loan and now Zac is obtainable we don't Bother? Or we can't afford his wages? And or Adam don't think we need him??? l

No doubt I will be shot down, but is it the clubs forward ambitions that decided Zac's choice of club? His thoughts seem to suggest that Horsham are going in a direction that he wants to part of??

You’re exactly right and you will get shot down by those asked to comment on here on behalf of the powers that be within the club... 🤥🤥🤥

Disappointing to have missed out, assuming as stated already that we were even in the race at all. If we were one factor could be proximity to London.
I know it's only up the road but I remember previously when he moved elsewhere it was stated he was based in London. On the money they're on at our level and with game travel plus two training sessions a week, every little bit of time and money saved might help.
A speculative theory only but I know the answer seems simple "just give him more money". As we've discussed already though, even that is not simple, we can't all agree where the club should sit on the ambition v caution scale.
Unless they've signed lots of 'big' players this could (also hypothetically) be a case of Zac being their showpiece marquee signing. Throwing money at a star. If so I would feel more comfortable building a team, than having a totem pole with little around him.
It raises more questions than answers, despite that for some it seems to have confirmed a conspiracy theory. The proof will be in the pudding though, the answer will only come in April when we see who finishes higher.

We may not have even spoken to him. Areas of strengthening needs to be the defence - Options for wing: Dawes, Meekums, Pearce, Starkey and the new lad Mason Dougty from Three Bridges.
Yes I'm aware Lloyd will probably play down the middle but even so if we got Zac that's too many options.

Young lad was at Broadbridge Heath for abit, plays on the wing has been down at training. Should feature in pre-season.

It appears that we have signed Carl Rushworth(18) from Brighton under 18's on loan as our new goalkeeper.

Didn’t we have an u18 on loan two seasons ago, I seem to remember he was really only capable of playing for our 18’s? Let’s hope this one is of higher calibre!

the U18 Goalkeeper from Brighton - he had an absolute nightmare in the friendly away to Wimborne, Lucas ended up staying and the young lad left and joined Basingstoke Town, who were at our level but were subsequently relegated.
I suspect that Horsham are going to be on an upward curve and quite an attractive club to join with their new facilities opening this season - similar to the upturn in our fortunes when George came in and upgraded the pitch facilities here. Horsham also have a decent supportive audience to play for as well as us. It was always going to be the case that we would be in direct competition for the same players as Horsham this season with their promotion to the Premier Division.
As far as I am aware, Zack has ties in Worthing as well as London so probably not a factor in his decision to join Horsham.

63 goals conceded last season and the highest amount inside the top 16. Hoping the defensive aspect of the side is better next season but i am not sure that replacing Lucas with a young lad is the answer. But then again im not sure 3 at the back is either so we will see
