Dreamy fixtures!! Start and finish the season at home. Torquay First away day of the season in 'Sunny' August. Yeovil away in April Eastbourne over Xmas for the 'Derby' Could not have asked for better if you ask me!! Would have preferred not to play the same side twice in a week over Christmas. No idea why they do that? Its to make it fair i assume Historically the 2 biggest home gates of the season are Boxing day and New Years day with many people who dont live in the area 'coming home' plus 99% of work places do not open on these days. I quite like it from a business view point

Your logic has validity although it appears unique to the National League.

I believe it used to be a thing in the Football League back in the day too.
Something in the back of my mind recalls reading about Christmas Day and Boxing Day being the two games concerned. How's that for a quick turnaround!!

Fixtures out tomorrow. As they don't normally show much imagination, Dover away anyone? (they can't give us Folkestone anymore) And which of the West Country ones will be either a) on the same date as a round of the FA Cup/Trophy or b) in deepest winter, so that we have to go there midweek? It had to be Truro, didn't it! Middle of January AND 4th round of the FA Trophy... Still, at least they're playing at Plymouth (200 miles) rather than Truro (260 miles).

How's that for a quick turnaround!! There were generally three "patterns" of fixtures that the Isthmian League used to follow, with regards to local derbies. 1) August Bank Holiday and Boxing Day; 2) Boxing Day and Easter Monday; 3) Boxing Day and New Year's Day. The National League favours the latter.

Huge crossing of fingers that Amazon Prime elect to move Albion vs Spurs from Boxing Day to the 27th or 28th, then hopefully both Worthing and EB can get their heads together go for a traditional 11.30 Boxing Day kick off time and get 2,500 plus in the ground?

And over in North Kent
Full accounts for Ebbsfleet finally released several weeks overdue.
Headline figure is an annual loss of £1,790,700 in 2022, an increase of £468;882 on the previous year’s loss of £1,321,818 during covid.

That raises the question at what expense do you want to play a division higher? Yes not going to lie I want us to get promoted to the national league. But not at a cost/loss like that. At times it is frustrating that the club can’t progress with certain things due to not having the money. But I rather be self funding then depending on someone bailing us out all the time. Or you could have a owner lien Southend who doesn’t care about the club

All non Saturday 3pm fixtures to be made available for TV streaming... National League Site - Link Double edged sword this I feel. More availability means fewer fans travelling, especially midweek.

And now Dover lose another assistant manager (within a week of being appointed) as his mental health was adversely affected by working at Dover (his words, not mine) I'm nearly starting to feel sorry for their proper fans but still want them to ger relegated with a record low number of points. www.tapatalk.com/groups/doverathletic/lee-flavin-asst-manager-t8842.html

There seems to be some discontent with the new owners at Hampton, according to their forum.
I was trying to find out why they were playing all their matches away so, having found no info on the club website, went to the forum. Apparently the new people promised a 3G pitch and improved floodlights but have left it too late for this season, and so are trying to renovate the grass pitch; as they didn't start on this until July, that explains why they have not been at home yet.
Looking at other threads it appears that a) the club badge has been changed; b) the club name has been changed (by dropping "Borough"; although the club website heading still includes it, it is not included in any article and they are using HRFC rather than HRBFC); and c) the home shirts are no longer red and blue, just red.
