There seems to be some discontent with the new owners at Hampton, according to their forum. I was trying to find out why they were playing all their matches away so, having found no info on the club website, went to the forum. Apparently the new people promised a 3G pitch and improved floodlights but have left it too late for this season, and so are trying to renovate the grass pitch; as they didn't start on this until July, that explains why they have not been at home yet. Looking at other threads it appears that a) the club badge has been changed; b) the club name has been changed (by dropping "Borough"; although the club website heading still includes it, it is not included in any article and they are using HRFC rather than HRBFC); and c) the home shirts are no longer red and blue, just red. That proofs new owners aren’t always the best thing since sliced bread!

Just a quick point about the current league table. We are currently 4th, not 5th as shown on footballwebpages, because we have won more matches than Taunton.
As per the standardised rules, clubs are ranked by 1) points, 2) goal difference, 3) goals scored, 4) number of wins, 5) results in head-to-head.

I'm going to pretend I haven't read this so I don't need to redo the whole prediction table (it's only interim rather than final in my defence)

Great to know To be honest, my knowledge was that there are such things as standardised rules and where to find them (on the FA website). I'd spotted that the table on the NL website had us 4th but fwp has us 5th and had a faint memory that number of wins comes into it. In a similar way, St Albans should be above Hemel. Chippenham and Farnborough should be joint 13th, as they haven't played each other yet (if it was the end of season and if it mattered, there would be a play-off match). The alphabet never comes into it, despite popular belief. The rules also say that the leagues are only under an obligation to publish a table at the end of the season, so Kenty is right in his defence!

I think it was all a joke. Havant put a statement out The letter clearly is, but not sure about the fines list it refers to. Havant chose not to mention it! Even so, someone has it in for him. Looks like he has a few enemies!

A couple of updates from last night. - I asked one of their officials, who has been there for years, so not one of the new regime, about the name. As suspected, they are still officially Hampton & Richmond Borough but internally refer to themselves without the "Borough"; the observant among you would have seen that both names appeared on their various stands. - All blue seems to be their home kit now, and they also have all red and all white kits, and have used several different combinations so far this season. We were told that they were going to change to all white for the second half last night (for visibility reasons), then they didn't, so it does seem a bit random.

Havant require 14 points just to get out of the relegation zone!
Appears we will be saying goodbye to them then, can't see them getting out of that!

Steve King ❌️ Be interesting to see who Havant get in next! Hinsh has been linked before. He'd be mad to, but clubs in desperate positions tend to offer mad money ☹

I think it would be unlikely he goes there, having just signed a new deal with us and I mean they are basically relegated ( Hinsh did work miracles with us in 2017 so could do it again ) so I feel it's a long shot. I reckon they will get Doswell back in!
