We bow out of the League Cup, stung by a last minute goal at London Bees ☹

Can all three of our teams get through in the FA Cup? Find out on Sunday at 2pm... Worthing v AFC Wimbledon 👍🏻 As Meatloaf would say "two outta three ain't bad", but sadly that means our women are knocked out 😔 Worthing 2-3 AFC Wimbledon (Bath, Worsfold). In a game with similarities to the men 23 hours earlier they fell short by the odd goal due to an experienced and highly organised team effort stifling our usual game. Also like Yeovil The Dons celebrated like they'd won the whole competition... well, they actually even celebrated every throw in like they'd won the cup 🙄 But that's been a theme in a few games now, we're very good in our league but need to find our voice a bit. I'm sure it's not the case but quite often it sounds like only one team is up for it... and it's not us. Too nice maybe?

Onwards and upwards.... our next home match is this Sunday (5th Nov) noting it's a 3pm kick-off (not the usual 2pm.) So, if you don't make it to Alfreton on Saturday, there's a chance to get your Woodside Football fix 😀

Unfortunately, tomorrow's game (5th November) is cancelled - Cambridge let us know only yesterday that they will not be coming as they do not have an uninjured goalie. Understandable in that it's expensive to travel for a game you're unlikely to win, but unacceptable in that we now have to cancel the mascot team, staff and volunteers arranged for match, a WFCSA milestone presentation, photo with sponsors and will lose the gate money. Very frustrating. Apparently the League will decide whether to give the points or reschedule...

Worthing 1-1 Norwich City(Chloe Winchester) Fair result to an absorbing close contest. Table - FA Website I think Norwich were for the taking today. Great change early on for Beckie Bath but she missed. The only troubled us from corners and throw ins really. What looked an awful injury to one of the Worthing players. But think Worthing would have been worthy winners. Better overall in my opinion. But a good game to watch !

A good result for us, as John felt it would be a tough match bearing in mind Norwich's form. Chloe Winchester looked great midfield and the wind added to the excitement when there were corners! We also managed to get all of our presentations completed and had Worthing Town mascots along to boost support. Now just hoping Hayley is ok - she was stretchered off to A&E.
