Just two more chances to come to home games: 14th and 21st April. Also, Lauren is doing really well in the Golden Glove competition π

Worthing 3-3 Ashford (Mx.) Tibble x2, Albuery. Table - FA WebsiteOdd little game this one. Entertaining 'n'all, and a fair result but a ref. who clearly got overlooked for the lead role in his local amateur dramatics group. More cards than Christmas, including for John, when in truth you rarely get more than one, if any, in our Womens games. Also a timely reminder not to judge books by their cover. The teams lined up and we looked like absolute giants. This was emplified by our opener, a direct free kick over a wall of four that were barely 4'6" high... when they jumped! Yet the smallest of Ashford's players though (#8) was possibly the most technically gifted individual I've ever seen play at a Women's game at Woodside. Honestly, some of the runs, turns and passes were Messi-esque, incredible ππ» Calls to mind something Danny Baker once said on 606. At any game at any level, whenever you see a player who looks like they shouldn't be there (short, freakishly tall, overweight, underweight etc.)... beware!!... the very fact they're there at all means they must be very very good. One more home game for the season next Sunday, Champions elect AFC Wimbledon are visiting. By my 'finger maths' I make it that they'll clinch promotion mathematically with a win, a draw or Norwich dropping any points against Sudbury. Now, if the ridiculous over the top celebration of their FA cup win here earlier in the season is anything to go by... stand by for a fireworks display, a marching band, the trophy presented by royalty, a fly-past by the Red Arrows and an open topped bus parade all the way back to SW19 π Oh, and they're the dirtiest, most cynical, most 'housery, gobbiest, wind up merchants I've ever seen in the Women's game too. I will applaud them though... all the way to a league we won't be in next season. Cheerio ππ»

Worthing 2-2 AFC Wimbledon
Great entertainment for the 200 & something today. We more than matched easily the toughest side in the league... and by the final whistle, they were the Champions. At least they had reason to celebrate like they'd won the league this time π We now have one game left, away to relegated Cambridge City, but will finish 3rd... Table -Β FA Website
Its been a great season for the girls, plenty to build on for next season ππ»

Was a good game to watch today. The only negative for me, same as last time, the bench and management of Wimbledon. Never heard anything like it. Glad they are going up so we donβt have to deal with that kind of behaviour next season.
