We were the better team, we were in control and with more precision in our plan, we could have beaten them 3-0. Very inconsistent reffing but all of our decisions were slow and they regrouped. Not nice to watch them dictate the ref's pace. But they end up coming away with 2 goals. If the handball that they scored after wasn't, then I don't know how their free kick at the end was. Yeah we've got to do better with it, but we shouldn't have to. Lino was a puppet and I wish they'd keep the assessors away!
Overall evaluation, we should have just beaten this 'big' club. They were well organised and knew their shapes to nullify our threat but we should have scored more with our possession. Some players didn't step up today after a busy week and I get that because I'm drained from it all too.
Decent week for the club and another 1800 crowd. Time to pick ourselves back up!

Frustrating game, but we didn’t create enough decent chances in all honesty. Yeovil solid shape, a physical side and good pressing but jeez I can’t understand how they’re top of the league! Classic hoofball team with no flair or real creativity but did enough to turn us over. Much more NL dark arts from them too, with time wasting starting in the first half. Rocco too soft on both goals? Easy to blame the keeper after a defeat sadly……

No, I kinda disagree. I thought the fairest result would've been a draw but it would've marginally more unfair had we won it. We gifted them a lead and they were thoroughly well organised enough to keep us at arms length. Roco's spill aside first half was, as I said, two good teams working hard. More of a chess game than a boxing match. Where I think we shot ourselves in the foot was after we got to 1-1. There was a couple of minutes of pressure then we dropped back. We should've kept our foot on their throat. Giving them the momentum back was a big mistake because they took full advantage. Overall there were more positives than negatives, we went toe to toe with a very good side and were in it right to the death. Sometimes you just have to take things like that on the chin. On the crowd I thought it was quite disappointing, our support went down a lot. Same total but vastly more Yeovil than Bath brought.

Enjoyable game, think a draw would have been a fair result. You can see why they’re top but they’re certainly not a patch on Ebsfleet from last season which is encouraging. If that is what we need to aim for then I still think we’ll be up there in the playoff places and possibly even better. I still think there’s plenty more to come from us and sooner or later Hinsh will settle on a formation which will get us back on a winning run. Cashman is looking better every game and we still haven’t seen the best of Luque by any stretch. Lack of height cost us for the winner and it almost felt like a penalty when they were given the free kick. Possibly gave them a bit too much respect but fair play to them, they are a very solid, physical and ‘professional’ outfit. Good away support numbers wise but I’ve never heard such little noise from such numbers.

We were good for a point imo.
However Yeovil experience won the game not a pretty side but the experience is why they are top. They did the homework on us at the end of the day.
Shared MOTM for me was Rye and Colbran both marshalled be defence brilliantly and put in some brillant blocks to thwart their players.

Can someone tell me why the free kick was given against Pearce what led to the goal pls? I am still confused. Didn’t think we did enough to win but deffo shouldn’t have lost this. I think it was handball?? It looked like Pearce was caught in the face with the ball and naturally his arms up to protect himself.

However the first goal was his fault. No discussion needed. Like I said before most positions we have 2 players apart from the goalkeeper. I really think we will benefit from another goalie!

In all honesty they probably just edged it. You can see how they got relegated from the NL though as they were not that impressive(Aveley were arguably more so). A point would've been a great one really because that lack of chance creation and shots on target really seems like it's going to be a running theme this season. No shots on target again until the second half and always relying on a "big second half) will bite you in the backside in the long term imo. Maybe if those shots in the first half had come to somebody other than Luque we might have got one or one on target at least lol but it was not to be. Thought that Crawley goal might've meant he had his shooting boots on today, but disappointing again tbh.

We were the wrong side of the pitch (so the highlights & Pitchside won't pick it up either) to see for sure, but the lino would've had a clear view. Sadly it'd be entirely in keeping with his reputation alone if Ollie was holding his head to mask the fact he'd handled it.

For balance he also stopped us going 2-0 down with a fantastic save tipping one onto the post early in the 2nd half. I agree we need to have another keeper in the squad. But not because he's in desperate need of being replaced, because I just think its dumb and a bit amateur to not have cover in that critical position every game.

It was close and quick whatever, just like the lead up to their first goal, which is the inconsistency. Not sure why I'm not so level headed in reflections after that. I genuinely think they were there for the taking and we bottled it 😔. Need to shake this one off!

Yes granted he made a very good safe at 1-0. I will give him that. But unfortunately for me the mistakes outweigh the good saves currently.

He hugs the left touchline even when the play is waaay over the other side and doesn't move, just waves his arm and shouts for the ball. MOVE MAN!! First half he was such a line hugger there were many times where I forgot he was on the pitch because we couldn't see him from up top. You'll find you get the ball much more if you make yourself available, make a run, drift in and curve a run between the centre backs maybe, but do SOMETHING. Compare and contrast with the other wing and what Wheeler was doing... from wingback don't forget. Always running, always willing, always available. It ain't rocket science, no wonder he got the ball more often. Luque, so far, has largely been a passenger. As you say its a shame because on Tuesday I thought he was starting to offer the team something.

I'm not sure how having two goalkeepers competing for one shirt is possible at this level. You'd either need a kind of grizzled old stager who would be prepared to sit on the bench knowing they're not going to play much (ever), or an up and coming youngster who would be happy to be on the fringes of the team and in with the chance of starting once in a while (Will Tillman is currently injured sadly).
Keeping a second goalie happy would be incredibly difficult - if we had another keeper of a similar standard to Roco, you can be as sure as hell they would not be content with sitting on the bench every game and would look for starting opportunities elsewhere sooner rather than later.
