Yeovil didn't start terribly but have really hit their bootstraps recently with seven wins on the bounce (3 Cup/4 league). While we were hanging on with nine men last time out in the league they reached the summit and visit us on Saturday still as league leaders. There were a smattering of league games last weekend but they didn't change our position which remains 5th, just three points behind 'The Glovers' and top spot.
NLS Table - Link
Form wise that surge is naturally reflected in their position of 2nd, only trailing form leaders Maidstone on goal difference. They have 13 points from the last available 18. While we've excelled in the cups our league form remains decidedly average, we are 13th with just 8/18.
Our home form is marginally better, we're 6th with 11/18 at Woodside Road. Away form looks poor for Yeovil sitting at they are in 17th with just six points. But that doesn't tell the true story, they're another club who've had their fixtures skewed having only played four away games in the NLS. They lost at Hemel (1-0) and Havant (4-3) but have since won at Weston (2-3) and Hampton & Richmond (1-2). That 50/50 win/loss ratio extrapolated up to six games even with just a one goal winning margin would see them 5th for current away form. So its certainly not the case that they're pish away from home.

No recent meetings between the clubs so for your viewing pleasure this week, as a guide to how The Glovers might shape up against us, here's their most recent away game, the win (and some cards!) at Hampton...

Squad wise and you'd like to think an unchanged side from Bath would be a no-brainer. Everyone bar Joel and Nicky Wheeler from the Bath game played or was on the bench in the win over Crawley last night and seemed to walk off the pitch uninjured. Didn't spot Joel in the crowd but Nicky was there looking fit and well. Aarran limping with a crutch is clearly not going to feature for a while now and as there was no action for Greg Luer or Cam Tutt last night either it suggests their recovery isn't at that stage yet so are unlikely to come back in.
A couple of things have changed in the wider squad availability though, Luca Woodhouse has served his one game suspension, Liam Vincent is back at the club on loan and we have a trialist with us in Jordan Adeyemi (forward). In theory therefore we could move Kane and Nicky out of their emergency fullback/wingback roles and slot in more natural defensive players in Luca and Liam... but as both totally bossed their respective wide more defensive roles on Saturday that would seem a very counter productive move. Certainly Kane when he came on last night went straight to right back again so hopefully that's the thinking, at least for him anyway.
All weekend games...
Aveley v Truro City
Braintree Town v Weston-super-Mare
Chippenham Town v St Albans City
Dartford v Havant & Waterlooville
Dover Athletic v Hemel Hempstead Town
Maidstone United v Farnborough
Slough Town v Chelmsford City
Taunton Town v Hampton & Richmond Borough
Tonbridge Angels v Bath City
Torquay United v Welling United
Weymouth v Eastbourne Borough
Worthing v Yeovil Town
All things being equal with a large away following for the Glovers and truly excellent performances in the last two home games from the rediscovered dynamic Rebels there should be a good crowd. Sure we'll lose a few Brighton 'VPN cheats' and the weather might put off some 'fairweathers' but if you're looking at the pennies and thinking 'there's been a lot of games recently its a big ask' consider this... after the feast comes the famine!. We have no games at Woodside for three weeks after this and we only have two scheduled home fixtures now before December!!
So get yourself down if at all possible for what promises to be a rip-roaring top of the table NLS game.
Come on you rebels!
