This will be easy right, Weymouth are way down amongst the dead men aren't they?... think again!!

Ground Guide -The Bob Lucas Stadium
Hanging on by the skin of their teeth last season on the last day, the Terras started life in 23/24 in much the same way. Even as recently as five games ago they were in 20th place. But a run of 12 points from those last five games has propelled them up to 14th, 13 points clear of the drop zone and only 9 points shy of the play-offs... they're on a charge all of a sudden!

Earlier in the season we won reasonably comfortably thanks to goals from Ricky Aguiar and Sonny Fish...

Last season early doors we won comfortably away (the 'Plainmoor result' of 22/23 if you will)...

We also beat them in the Trophy last season at home 4-2 (Kealy, Akanbi, Pearce x2) but lost the home fixture 1-3 (Colbran).
Needless to say I've already spoilt the revelation of their recent form being good. They've been down the bottom our entire time in the NLS so we've not unreasonably kinda pigeonholed them as being one of the strugglers while we concentrated on the top end. But they've steadily hauled themselves out of that fight recently and currently sit 6th for overall form home and away with 12 points from the last available 18. Our form meanwhile has been fantastic and for the first time in a long time we top the current form table with 16/18.
Relative home and away form looks good for us too. A run of four straight away wins (whilst conceding only one goal!) sees us 2nd for away form with 12/18 on the road. Terras are 8th for home form over the last six games (12/18) but are unbeaten in this spell. Wins against Truro, Slough and Hemel have been solidly supported by draws against Aveley, Dover and Weston. Indeed you have to go back as far as the 7th November for their last home defeat.

Numbers wise ours look great right now. But we must eradicate any notion of this being 'just Weymouth'. They are in good nick especially at home, the Bob Lucas Stadium is not an 'easy' place to go to anymore and we will have to be totally on our game.
Squad wise and clearly JJ will be replaced by Roco in goal. Hinsh is allegedly looking for a second keeper but even if he gets one in time there'll surely not have been enough training sessions to have him up to speed with our systems. Beyond that everyone appeared to survive unscathed from Dover so changes should be minimal. I say that but for the first time in a while we have three games in eight days coming up (Weymouth, Welling, Braintree). Of the three if you were to pick a game for squad rest/rotation on form/position/threat, you'd pick Welling on Tuesday... Weymouth could surprise us and Braintree is big, with a point to prove from the away game.
All Saturday fixtures...
Bath City v St Albans City
Braintree Town v Torquay United
Dover Athletic v Dartford
Eastbourne Borough v Chelmsford City
Farnborough v Truro City
Hampton & Richmond Borough v Aveley
Hemel Hempstead Town v Weston-super-Mare
Slough Town v Chippenham Town
Taunton Town v Maidstone United
Welling United v Tonbridge Angels
Weymouth v Worthing
Yeovil Town v Havant & Waterlooville
No colours this time as we're guaranteed to stay 2nd. If anything this round of fixtures favours our competition though. Yeovil won't be slipping up at home to Havant and will undoubtedly boost their GD too. Below us our two main competitors are playing Eastbourne and crisis club Taunton so again you'd feel confident they'll win too.
Gutted this game has fallen when it has because this is a ground I really want to get to. But Covid did me last season and a family event prevents me this year.
Safe travel to all heading down though and come on you Rebels!
