Excellent article and well worth the read if you've got a spare 5 minutes! Not someone I know much about, but lots of interesting reflections. Beat me too it Bally, an article like that really makes a compelling case! Well worth a read

Random doesn't do it justice Worthingwire. The question I'd ask is why?, what's in it for Joseph Pope?
Sounds more like a sales pitch than a distanced, objective suggestion 🤔

Not sure contrasting views are exclusive. It's fair to question the motive while also finding out about other managers with interesting qualities. Plenty of names wouldn't fit so nothing wrong with a new name whatever the motive (or lack of one).

Chris Agutter signs a new 2 year deal at Hastings today. Would imagine that rules him out of our shortlist.

Danny Bloor was in the stand again today... God no To be fair Bloor is a decent manager with good track but not for us. I was critical of him but on reflection I think he was let down by heirachy who were in charge of the club at the time. We need a young manager who is in it for the long term.

It may be wishful thinking but I picked up a whiff of excitement from Barry Hunter in the recent podcast.
When asked if there had been expressions of interest already he said their had.
When pressed for details he started down a clearly positive path before 'responsible business mode' kicked in and he stopped himself.
Somehow I doubt Danny Bloor was one of the exciting names he was thinking of.
I reckon we have every right to think bigger than the names mentioned so far. We are the poster boy club of responsibly run, successful, upwardly mobile non-league football.
