With apologies Broadwater... I can't leave that hanging indefinitely. The reason the link doesn't work is that Farad Iylospõl is an anagram of April Fools Day 😬 Had it all good to go first thing this morning but bloody Proboard decided to go down for maintenance all morning 🤦♂️... I only just got it in before midday. Forgive me, its not big and its not clever 😔 Don't undersell yourself; it was very clever

I believe the interviewing process has begun. Interesting time to start. Still a few games to go and still in a play off position. So are the club recruiting for a NLS or NL manager? But then again the sooner we appoint a manager the sooner we can start getting ready for next season. Start getting the squad sorted and sort contracts. Pearce is the first one that needs sorting. The. The rest will follow. Personally I hope Sorondo comes back as well.

Interview/appoint now and you potentially miss out on candidates who'll become available in just a month or two ( unless you go behind their current clubs back... which I'm sure we wouldn't do). Interview/appoint now and whoever gets it doesn't know which league we'll be in. That could put off appointees with more of a NL portfolio, and who don't really fancy NLS. But don't do it and all our prized assets tick closer and closer to 24/25 with the uncertainty of who'll be in charge and may look for that certainty elsewhere. Irrespective of the recent pick-up in results, sooner is better than later for me. Certainty breeds stability, stability breeds confidence.

I'll be very surprised if we can afford to keep our most prized asset. I would guess that we have turned down sizeable offers in the hope of winning promotion this season. Out of contract at the end of the season, he's off!

Out of contract at the end of the season, he's off! Let's not jump to conclusions, Ollie is born and bred down here, I can't really see him giving up his whole life and career for the sake of maybe 1 year at a level higher up, yes he may get offers and opportunities and the like, everyone does! But it is also a big risk and the grass isn't always greener. Give it time, the club will be working hard to secure those players future.

Ollie will go in the summer, unless you put him on a full time contract at Woodside.

Ollie will go in the summer, unless you put him on a full time contract at Woodside. That's not impossible either. We'd be one year shy of our three year plan to transition to full time but as was discussed by Hinsh/Barry on one of the podcasts some sort of hybrid model (some full/some part) is possible next season. The new manager may well buy into that or even accelerate the transition of course. Personally, but that it wasn't, I don't believe that alone will suffice. Hot property attracts top dollar, and however we modelled it that won't be available here. We shouldn't bust sustainability for anyone.

Aarron must be a shoe in after the Yeovil result.

It's early to say.
I would think if we went up via the play offs he would be!

He's in the running for sure!! Done a really good job despite a rocky patch which let's face it, was to be expected really!!

It's a very firm no for me... ESPECIALLY if we went up via the play-offs. That sounds harsh so I'll take the time and care to explain my thinking...
If we somehow found ourselves in the National League we'd absolutely need an experienced hand because if we have ANY chance of survival we couldn't afford any 'schoolboy errors'.
I'm NOT painting Aarran as a 'schoolboy' literally but it's just too big a step up in planning, recruiting, organising and motivating for someone, anyone, still only beginning to cut their teeth in management... at any level.
If we went up there would also be the question of whether we went full-time (or hybrid) ahead of schedule. If so then on top of all of the above, the next permanent manager would also need to manage a rapid transition to a brand new squad model.
It'd take nosebleed levels of work and responsibility to get that right, and, again, that pressure is mitigated by previous experience.
Even if we stay in the NLS its inevitable, and fully understandable, that rookie errors would happen with a rookie manager. Appointing Aarran for the NLS would be a signal the board are content to allow him time and space to cut his teeth.
Now that's all fine and dandy if they want to go that way... but accommodating his learning curve would inevitably signal the end of our year-on-year progress of recent seasons. Long term gain?, well possibly, maybe. Short term pain?, certainly.
I also just feel that the calibre of applicants before them is very high... and will only get higher with results like today. There will be candidates George and Barry would find just too irresistible. Play-offs, TV game, documentary... who knows if/when our stock and profile will be this high again, and thus able to attract such interest again.
Its tempting to get swept away by today's result, I get that. But step back for a second and look at the wider picture. This is a great opportunity for Worthing FC, the appointment for 'next level Worthing'... needs to be 'next level' 😉
Aarran, Deano and Buddy have done a fantastic job as an interim team to turn round a string of shocking results... but lets not forget they did also oversee those shocking results.
