Good middle 45 minutes but they went at us for the last 30 and it cost us. Enough attacks and a mistake will come but the midfield have to stop giving the ball away in transition when we are vulnerable. Some really good football at times but ultimately a sour taste at the final whistle. Who was playing Akanbi on for the 4th, he looked 2 yards off from where I was. Felix was great first half, but the highlight for me was Chopper. Started, early strike from outside the box ON TARGET then driven ball to the back post from a corner. Shame he came off but got to look after him! We dipped off after Chadwick went off to be fair! I mean taking him off for Luer was an odd choice, surely Bailey Smiths pace??

As a child, I once touched a hot oven and got burnt, I never did that again... THEN WHY THE HELL CAN'T WE LEARN NOT TO DIHER WITH IT AT THE BACK AND PLAY STUPID RISKY PASSES AND GIVE AWAY 4 GOALS!!!!! After every single game I'm sat here feeling the same emotions and watching the same cock ups every single time!!! I'm going to cause controversy here but I don't think Roco is good enough, or he needs taking out of the firing line for the time being to get some confidence back!! I think we all know Rocco struggles at this level , we need at least a loan signing? I'm sure Adam is aware. Not sure if Adam is aware otherwise he would have brought someone in. I really don’t get why the club is not looking at Toby Bull as a potential replacement, even a temporary one.

Agree it was odd to bring on Leur. 20 games in and he still hasn’t shown anything. Thought Chadwick had a brilliant game. If he doesn’t start next week something is not right

Christmas might be around the corner. So people can will think twice about spending money. But if things don’t improve I can see us dropping below the 1000 attendees every home game! Not saying anything yet about the game but 8 goals conceded in 2 consecutive games is just not good enough. And to be honest not sure how it can fixed! Even accounting for the Albion factor the crowd was very poor. To drop over 300 from what was already last week the lowest Saturday gate is the most alarming aspect of the day. I'll crunch the numbers some other time but that's surely the lowest Saturday crowd in years 😬 It'll go up next week of course but not because of anything within the control of the club, because its Maidstone and because Albion play Sunday. That's the slightly alarming subtext, now to the main event. And bloody hell, where do you start? At half time I worked out that as things stood a two goal win against Stones next week would've seen us go 2nd. For a team so consistently inconsistent, and at times kamikaze in defence, the prospect is just Batsh1t crazy 😜 For me it all comes down to what I want from my football this season. As promotion right now terrifies me, being entertained is my only goal. And as Maximus would say... "are you not entertained?" 😎 I can't recall the last time I saw such an open game, it was total nuts today. Both sides couldn't defend, both sides were throwing themselves forwards. The result was taken from us by an offside flag that inexplicably never came but overall, and I may be in a minority of one here, I enjoyed it. It beats crabby sideways football with no penetrative threat against two banks of four any day of the week. If we get this blend of courageous and brilliant attacking endeavour with crass defensive stupidity each week and win some, draw some and lose some so be it. MOTM for me was Chopper, if only for the refreshing nature of having one of our own playing without fear. Honourable mention of course for Nicky Wheeler, its great to have him back. Crazy crazy game.

Ah expansive football at its best . Goalkeeper errors from both sides , dreadful defending from both sides , poor choice making in midfield from both sides , poor finishing from both sides and a couple of sublime goals from both sides . In a perverse sort of way i thoroughly enjoyed it . Needed a big wake up call and this was it . Two midd table sides going toe to toe in an error littered encounter . Defensive coach , goalkeeper coach ? Imo the money could be better spent elsewhere . 😷😷😷

On the crowd figure, there was only one home Saturday game last season which dipped below four figures, Slough attracting 968. The last time we had a Saturday gate lower than today's was, weirdly in some respects, when we hosted Dorking in the FA Trophy in November 2021 (Kealy, Wills and Wheeler all played for Dorking in that match).
Agree with Keithsson about the entertainment factor - the most entertaining game last season was home to St Albans, even though we lost. And similarly agree about Chopper - the lad has zero fear, and while he might not have been pulling up trees on loan at Littlehampton as someone alluded to the other day, it's quite possible that their style of football may not be conducive to him showing his best work. He's been coached at Worthing since U14 (possibly earlier), so there's a fair chance he has a decent understanding of the way we play, no?

Two sides who were absolutely abject defensively and decent going forward made for an entertaining, but ultimately frustrating afternoon.
Their subs came on and made a difference, ours seemed to make us weaker. Surely in a mad game with 10 to go and 4.3 we should have looked to shut up shop rather than pile forward looking for more goals. The amount of times we left ourselves 2 on 2 or 3 on 3 at the back throughout the match was ridiculous.
Excellent performances from Finley, Ollie played very well and Kane was superb (need to get him back in midfield alongside Ricky) and was good to see Nicky starting again.
Regarding the crowd, 3 consecutive home games plus Boxing Day,Christmas round the corner and Brighton at home can't have helped but don't understand why the club didn't come up with a ticket deal for the run of December home games, £45 for all 4 or £35 for 3 might have attracted a few more. 4 lots of £16 at an expensive time of year maybe put a few off.

For entertainment value that could hardly be beaten - could have ended any score. However suicidal defending again means not getting the points we deserved. I wonder if gates are falling because fans are getting fed up of the defensive failings not being addressed?
It’s very laudable to be chasing a 5th with 10 mins to go, but surely some game management would see the game out and secure the 3 points.

Did the quick reverse trawl through FWP...
As far as I can see today was our lowest gate for a Saturday league game since the 727 that watched a 2-1 win over Margate on Saturday 7th December 2019.
Four years and two days ago ☹

We can't escape the fact either that they brought on the guy we shipped out to help thin the squad... to accommodate our subs today 🤔 He made an impact and scored, they didn't... again. Edit: We just needed Dan Bowry to have been shutting us out today too rather than sitting in the stands for the full on double facepalm 🤦♂️🤦♂️

I think a lot of supporters may be thinking it’s pointless to pay admission money to keep having to see Leur trying? to score a goal in a Worthing shirt when his standard is Southern Combination div one level at best. Surely Adam,,, you can see that.
