Not for the first time we 'move swiftly on' from a thumping away defeat and start all over again. After Braintree we then beat Welling, after Maidstone we then beat Whitehawk in the cup, and after Hampton we then beat Bath. We seem more than capable therefore of getting back on the horse... its staying on it for any length of time without falling face down into a cowpat we can't seem to manage.

Last season's corresponding fixture was a nine goal thriller/farce depending how you view it...

Saints are currently in 17th place with 25 points from 20 games. We stayed 7th last night (33/20). Its a familiar refrain but the table is so tight this year, its as ripe for climbing as it is for falling. Add two wins to our tally and we're joint 2nd, take those same six points off and we're 16th! A sustained run of results will bring great rewards for any club, but only Yeovil and Hampton have done so.

Form wise and our position of 2nd over the previous six game spell has now dropped to 10th after last night. we have 10 points from the last available 18. St Albans are right down in 22nd spot with just 3/18. Sounds good but with only two home league wins in the last six games we are 16th for home form with 8/18 at Woodside while Saints are 11th for away form with 7/18. Its a lot tighter therefore than the league position and overall form would have you believe, they're better away from home. Their points in this period have come from wins at Chelmsford & Chippenham with a draw at Welling.

With changes being threatened after we 'gave up' last night, the selection for this one is even harder to call than normal. He hasn't exactly got a cast of thousands to call on though, especially in defence. And irrespective of performance the fatigue effect of that long trip and boggy surface is something he'll only really find out at training on Thursday. Saints meanwhile had their feet up last night and that will inevitably give them some advantage come Saturday.
All Saturday fixtures...
Braintree Town v Aveley
Chippenham Town v Weymouth
Dover Athletic v Bath City
Havant & Waterlooville v Taunton Town
Slough Town v Farnborough
St Albans City v Chelmsford City
Tonbridge Angels v Dartford
Torquay United v Hemel Hempstead Town
Welling United v Eastbourne Borough
Weston-super-Mare v Truro City
Worthing v Maidstone United
Yeovil Town v Hampton & Richmond Borough
It'll be a very wet one on Saturday, Albion are at home and we're off the back of another thumping. Let's hope that wonderful second half performance at Woodside last Saturday is enough to 'keep the fires burning' and entice numbers back again.
Come on you Rebels!
