After the cakewalk of Eastbourne comes a much, much, tougher prospect...

We got absolutely nothing from 'The Clarets' last season. A 1-3 home defeat in late November was followed up by a 4-2 away defeat in March.

To give some encouragement though its interesting to note that in both fixtures just two players in our current squad featured in the starting XI's for these games (Joel and Kane for the home game, Joel and Ollie away). They'll face a quite literally very different team this time round.
Despite that double over us they trailed us by just a two goal difference after the club's finished level on points last season. Losing to a very late only goal to St Albans they exited the play-offs at the QF stage. A bit like us in a very tight table this season they've had their ups and downs, sitting as high as 2nd and as low as 11th. Currently they are on a bit of an upwards roll in 6th with 41 points from 25 games, we sit 3rd (43/25).

Unsurprisingly their upward trajectory in the table means their form is good. Only surprise top form team Truro City (and we visit them next week!!) are above Clarets. They have 12 points from the last available 18 to our 10/18 down in 8th.
The respective home and away form doesn't make the challenge look any easier either... a decent enough 13/18 in the last six home games sees us in 6th in the home table... and that's the same number of points the best away side in the league currently have too. Those points have come at not too shabby destinations either with wins at Braintree, Bath, Aveley and Dartford plus a creditable point at a resurgent Tonbridge. They did lose at St Albans (2-1) but that was only their second away defeat of the season, the only other coming at Torquay in early September.

We need to do what we couldn't achieve last season but make no mistake, the numbers favour Chelmsford. We looked very good without getting out of third gear against Eastbourne, but that's really not saying much. We'll need all the gears for this one, its a big big challenge.
Squad wise I don't think we're too far short of fully fit. We did have a knock going into NYD (I'll be honest I forgot who [Cashman?]) but Hinsh seemed happy he'd be back for Saturday.
All Saturday fixtures...
Braintree Town v Hampton & Richmond Borough
Chippenham Town v Hemel Hempstead Town
Dover Athletic v Truro City
Slough Town v Taunton Town
St Albans City v Farnborough
Tonbridge Angels v Weymouth
Torquay United v Eastbourne Borough
Welling United v Aveley
Weston-super-Mare v Dartford
Worthing v Chelmsford City
Yeovil Town v Bath City
Given our green shoots of consistency and given the high levels of entertainment at Woodside road recently, you'd like to think on a crisp, bright winter Saturday a good number of the 'Boxing Day casuals' would be attracted back for what is a key promotion game. Unfortunately Albion are are playing away in the FA cup... and the curse of the 'hooky TV Stream' is therefore poised to strike the club's coffers
Come on you Rebels!
