Obviously best wishes to Jeffries. A bright prospect who we may not get to see again.
As for the game, for me the lapses in concentration are completely excusable when you see (and hear) a young teammate break their leg. I for one think well done for holding on in the conditions despite them undeservedly benefiting from our loss of focus. That's sport.
Bravo Ollie, and kudos to Klass, Cash, Wadham and Willard too. Joe Felix... Got to have most turnovers in the league!
I sadly think we do need to consider another loan GK. I was worried we didn't get Roco involved and on the ball early on after the sub and it ended up that his first touch was picking the ball out the net. None of the following goals can be attributed to him but it's a position we have to sort of we are to push for promotion.
Strange day at the office but another 3 points and some work to be done behind the scenes.

I think Bally is spot on here, injuries like that make you think about others things rather than the game itself and you realise there is more to life than football!
Still couple of good keepers out there available on free transfers, David De Gea anyone?

For all of Ollie’s goals the thing that impressed me most about him today was sitting with Josh as he was being treated on the pitch.

Sometimes you forget that we're not a professional outfit and that the squad is so very young... and forgetting it is, in itself, a huge compliment to them.

Think signing a new goalkeeper on loan is becoming a priority in my eyes It is, but not simply because of Roco. Having two viable first team keepers is essential for occasions just such as this. Just because its the first time its happened 'in game' since Lucas at Moneyfields is no reason to think it couldn't happen again. Lightning can strike twice and we need a decent keeper on the bench every week. So yes, if we even can outside the transfer window, another keeper is a priority. Until that time however Roco is our keeper and I'm right behind him 👍🏻 I think today has shown why we should have 2 goalkeepers. Doesn’t happen often one comes off but having backup is good. Don’t think Rocco was to blame for the goals today. Maybe should have done better with the first. However I had/have the feeling the players looked more confident with JJ in goal the last 5 matches. So next game it will be Rocco in goal. And I really hope he will have a good game and I will support him. But being really honest does it fill me with confidence? The answer unfortunately is still no.

am i missing something from todays game regarding Rocco , there seems to be a real concern that Rocco was at fault for the goals conceded. The first goal , we should have had someone on the post . The second came from a penalty. so come on lets give him support as he wasn't a bad keeper before Josh was signed .
A couple of other thoughts i had are that ,I would have liked to see Kane come on in defence in the second half . we are still very slow in getting the ball from the defence into our forwards . Kane has an excellent range of passing .i thought Michael Klass was fantastic today and on a slightly different story that ive read is Jasper is still not playing for Swindon .He was fantastic for his recent cameo for us before Swindon asking him to return but in my opinion Jasper & Danny Cashmen does not give us that solid platform in midfield as i think there so alike in play . Obviously others will / may disagree .

But the other 3 were not his fault.

I didn't want to appear to expect too much every week, there will always be highs and lows. We have a very good team that can play some good football, at 6-2 fair enough but I thought Keithsson's words of 'winners don't switch off and that they maintain a killer instinct and make hay while the sun shines' was very apt .We didn't do this despite being capable of doing so. As regards Rocco I don't blame him and as has been said we should have had someone on the near post.

We all can make assumptions from the terraces but I think the players were shook up and I thought we did well to keep scoring and win the game. Yes it could of been better defensively but the injury changed the monentum of the game and Dover got a bit more into it. I think we can be a little over critical of the team . I think we are doing well and it's still a work in progress. We can't expect perfection all the time. I wish JJ well 🙏🙏

Well, What did we learn this week?
Dover were poor. Dembele played for Bognor. We play entertaining football. We score goals, Oily Pearce scores goals. We concede goals. We win games. Clean sheets are irrelevant - Goal difference is what matters. We have too many loan players. We won't keep clean sheets if defenders are still in the other half when the ball goes in. Rocco needs our support. Player welfare isn't taken seriously enough. We have a big budget but players have to crowd fund for an operation. Many of our new fans are shallow.

Statto time... Yesterday was only the second time we have won a league match 6-4; the other was at home to Dagenham in the Corinthian League on 18th August 1962. We have won by that score on seven occasions now: there have been four wins in friendlies plus the Dave Kew Memorial Cup final at Pagham on 23rd August 2020 (the most recent 6-4 win before yesterday).

Having watched the highlights, made me remember how good the officials were on Saturday. Don't think there was a wrong call. I know we've had some shockers but last couple of matches have been pretty good so credit where it's due!
Shame the injury was in the highlights though, didn't want to see that again.

Viewers wishing to exercise discretion can do so at 3 minutes 14 seconds... HighlightsElsewhere it confirms my initial impression that Ollies '3rd' was an OG.

Bottom line is that we hope Jeffries makes a full recovery.
Rocco needs our support unless Hinsh gets another keeper in. We need to stick with him if he makes errors yes it's frustrating but like any of our players we need back up and help build his confidence.
