FFS, what exactly was wrong with releasing that last night then? Why the subterfuge? What a farce, virtually every other league above and below our steps are back playing. I give up, I'm done with the whole process tonight, I refuse to let it ruin another otherwise perfectly pleasant evening.

So, on the face of it, by the wonderful criteria they set, this means one of the impediments for Trident League football restarting has been taken away. On the face of it therefore the authorities and the 76% of the turkeys that voted for Christmas clubs that voted not to restart can pat themselves on the back for standing in solidarity with the tier 3 clubs. Will it actually restart though? Well we still have the other impediment they all downed tools for, food and drink sales. No change there. Now I got that tweet while watching the latest Number 10 briefing. Simultaneously what Twitter was telling me in my hand and what the Health Secretary was telling me on the TV were at polar opposites to each other. My eyes were seeing that tier 3 clubs can have fans back but my ears were hearing very diplomatically coded language for "Kent, Essex and London are taking the absolute farking piss". So well done Government, you're going to test every school child in Kent, Essex and London because their Covid numbers, despite both a full lockdown and tier 3, have not stopped rising when everywhere else is going down. How's about maybe not therefore rewarding them with the other hand by allowing crowds back? I know I shouldn't say it, I know it isn't at all charitable of me and I know it makes me a very bad person but I am very much in the camp of 'f**k 'em' when it comes to the clubs in tier 3. The individuals concerned at those clubs are i'm sure lovely folk one and all and it's a terrible shame for them I know. But they are where they are on the map and the communities around them have stuck two fingers up to the Covid regulations. Sorry but tough luck. Why should clubs in communities who haven't taken the right royal piss ( Worthing was lower even than the Tier 1 areas earlier this week) have to suffer because of the recklessness of others? It doesn't fit natural justice. This whole farce is leaving me behind now. I was really enjoying this season, even with the restrictions we had. I could even swallow the national lockdown circuit break in November. But the Trident league's omnishambles, bubbling away in the background since March boiled over for me with this stance. I am no longer enjoying things. I have been spitting feathers all week watching 'elite football' welcome crowds come back and knowing football below our level had restarted too. Yet here we all sit in the middle doing the square route of nadda. Pre Pagham I actually gave a bit of a toss about the necessary evil of friendlies too, I was even bothered enough to do a preview piece. But when the day came I just thought to myself 'no, what is the point?' As it stands there is no prospect of any competitive football for us any time soon, they are not a necessary evil, they're wholly UNNECESSARY. I love pre season friendlies because there's a point to them, the clue is in the title... the season is coming. But it could be months until all the criteria the Trident Leagues set are finally met and we can start again. You have to ask yourself if we're now arranging friendlies into January (Horsham)... why exactly are we playing friendlies in early December? Organising friendlies into 2021 means there's clearly no confidence of a restart after the review on the 16th... and yet Dajon now has torn a hamstring thanks to playing a nothing game in Essex. Brilliant. Sorry guys i've ranted long enough already. I'm just so pissed off with it all, it's turned what was once joyful into an utter farce. Wake me up when competitive football is back, until then i'm done with it all.

15%, so that's a 300 limit then for us and no clubhouse use.
Not a lot of good then and I just don't get the logic (if there is any)

600 in Tier 2 if using Horsham FC or Woodside (in Jan) - I went to watch Worthing Utd on Tuesday and alcohol was being served on approval from the council so that's always a possibility too.

Hopefully this is good news but with London and Essex rumoured to be heading towards tier 3 and the situation in Kent not looking like it's improving the majority of clubs in our division would have a 300 capacity limit, no away fans and no secondary spend permitted. Can't see that being financially viable if I'm honest. Guess we will find out on December 16th at the next review date, add in a few weeks for the league to send out voting forms and collate the results, release a couple of ambiguous statements and we may be back playing by March 2021!!!

So to be clear. I can watch Worthing at Horsham in front of a probable 600 capacity crowd early January but the league won't allow me to watch the same teams with the same crowd one week earlier (Boxing Day ). The whole thing is a complete mess . Whilst I have sympathy for the clubs in Kent surely the London clubs will soon be joining them . Just a thought but couldn't the league be completed with games classed as cup games i.e. split the gate receipts for the rest of the season . Not ideal I know but it could just see games completed .

One idea I've read about is that all the league games played so far are expunged. The league is then split in 2, 20 game season and then a play off competition to determine promotion and relegation.
If that comes to fruition that would mean we would see a total of our last 42 league games count for nothing, a complete season wasted and an idea that rewards the sides at the top and rewards the sides who are struggling.

I see Bog FC have had 3 points deducted for an ineligible player; shame the league couldn't have found some time to plan the season as well

Lewes fan taking here, hope you don’t mind on your forum??? I’m as disappointed as you are that the season hasn’t restarted, and the vote in our league was so close. I’m disappointed that my club decided to stop the season . Especially with clubs like yourself cray wanderers, Horsham, Bognor and carshalton who have aspirations to get out of this league, and all that hard work will count for nothing. If you’re in tier 3 that’s unlucky, but don’t let the rest of of us make a suicide pack.

In know that it is only a "minor" league but the West Lancs League has "terminated" its current season
"From the LEAGUE 2 hours ago=
The league has issued an update relating to fixtures for the remainder of the season. West Lancashire League Regional Cup Competition for 2020/21 season
As promised, the WLL committee discussed the ongoing issues of the 2020/21 season at the December Committee Meeting. The Management Committee reviewed several options including;-
Continuing to try to play a normal season Re-structuring fixtures so that teams played each other once A Regionalised Cup Competition
To date we have lost all of August (potentially 8 fixture dates) & all of November (4) & December (3/4) so we’re clearly way behind schedule. 227 league games have been played with a further 205 postponed due to various reasons including Covid (146 games), whilst a further 48 games have been postponed due to waterlogged pitches / abandoned games (Figures up to end of November). Due to the severe & increasing fixture congestion; Saturday 2nd Jan to Saturday 1st May only provides 18 Saturdays, & bearing in mind some teams have only played 4/30 games (26 remaining fixtures), clearly this is going to be a major issue. No team has played more than 8 fixtures to date meaning many teams have 22+ games yet to be arranged. With so many matches to be arranged & the fact that some teams are currently either unable to play any, or they could only play 1 or 2 league games, the Tier system restrictions imposed is hitting the WLL very hard.
As these ongoing issues, forced upon the League by the Covid pandemic Tier restrictions, plus considering the likely hood of losing additional Saturdays to the weather (waterlogged & frost bound pitches) through early 2021, the geographical area that WLL covers & the amount of travelling teams would have to make for the certain numerous evening games during April / May, it is extremely unlikely that a normal season could be completed. It was unanimously agreed that we should terminate the 2020/21 season with immediate effect & organise a Regionalised Cup Competition. This would mean starting season 2021/2022 in August 2021 with the same divisional format as 2020/21 subject to the resignations / applications to join the WLL. This would allow an unprecedented competitive Regionalised Cup Competition for member clubs that would provide fixtures for teams through January to April (possible extension into May if necessary). One competition for Premier Division, Division 1 & Division 2 teams with a separate competition for the reserve Division teams. Such a competition would not only provide the football we all want but would also save clubs money due to much reduced travelling expenses. The competition would allow home & away fixtures played on a regionalised / Tier group system providing teams with 8, 10 or 12 games (dependent upon their geographical area). At the conclusion of these group matches, quarter final, semi-final & finals would be arranged & played (subject to Tier restrictions having been terminated by early April). Member Clubs are invited to apply to enter these 2 competitions. Applications by email to WLL Fixture Secretary (andy.hosker@gmail.com). The closing date for applications is 29th Dec 2020. Competitions likely to start 9th / 16th January 2021 - target completion 1st May 2021. Please bear in mind however, that should Covid Tier restrictions continue (including players travelling across Tiers to play) preventing you playing fixtures, you should not enter the competition & that fixtures could be withdrawn if Covid Tier restrictions require such action by the WLL committee."

I do hope this doesn't happen to us. I cant bear to see our lads be robbed of another shot at promotion to the national league south.

With London and much of Essex in T3 as of Weds the league is no nearer any kind of restart. The odds of another null and void keep shortening

The Northern League is step 5 and 6 which I think have always been able to play with limited crowds and strict social distancing topbloke, but many leagues at that level chose not to play rather than this being an FA edict.
