Great thread this one. Lots of positive reflections despite the obvious frailties and some diversity of perspectives to keep us all balanced - all healthy and appreciated in a growing club. Yeah, it's funny, when I posted after the game that it felt all shades of wrong saying it was entertaining and enjoyable, I figured I'd be in a small minority. Turns out I wasn't. It speaks volumes for our largely level headed and pragmatic outlook. I'm not on Facebook but at the game my friend who is said it was already "kicking off" on there by half time 🤣

I walked in last week wearing my Worthing bobble hat, new barman started to chat about WFC, I said well they're doing pretty well,, can't expect to win every single game, football doesn't work like that, etc etc, he said oh people have been in here saying they are terrible this season...

Good to have video assisted recollection. I think the keeper was only really responsible for two of the Dartford goals, not the four some have accused him of; Rye takes the fuller blame for the winner. Sad to say the offside was also the correct decision in wiping off our first equaliser as Pearce was very definitely interfering with play. I can now also say that the referee had a good game, although it was generally played in a good spirit, a grumpy Colbran excepted.

Re: Colbran - a fair point, I said to my mate at the game he does come across as a bit moody and negative when things aren't going our way. As captain you'd expect leadership and positive energy no? Great player mind...........

If you freeze the moment Luque shoots on the National League highlights, Pearce is most definitely only level with their centre back on the six yard line albeit definitely in the keepers line of sight. I need to get out more !

Regarding the 4th goal, Joe Rye should have let it go out for a goal-kick; he didn't take the time to check that no Dartford players were close, and that awareness is probably something that will come with experience.

I would hope all players at this level really hate losing. When they demonstrate this by snarling at opponents, swearing at the clouds, and continuing the pushing and shoving after the final whistle it isn't a good look and offends my Victorian sensibilities.

I need to get out more ! The lino can't see if he's interfering in line from that angle and it's clearly very close. Confident call at our level considering it would have taken VAR 10 minutes to decide in the Prem!
