I'd also be wary about listening to an agent right now. Agents get rich when talent moves around. They don't make too much from properties that stay happy somewhere for a long time.

morning lads, York fan in peace here.
heard from a v reliable source last night it was Hinshelwood getting the job, and this morning that journo appears to be confirming it.
what can we expect from his sides? I know the goals for and goals against columns look eye watering in both regards, but what formations does he go for? how does he like to get the goals?
came to worthing last year for a wedding and had a wonderful time. I wanted you lot up in the national with us for a nice weekend on the coast. here's hoping that happens, and you can create a cauldron of hate for Adam if/when he returns.

Don’t think we would ever have hate towards Hinsh. He’s been truely amazing for us. I am personally surprised at the move at this time of the season, but I can also understand why! It will be very big boots to fill

Never any hate, WFC legend for life is Hinsh You expect attacking football, playing out from the back but also getting tactility found out and get spanked 4-0 once a month. Hinshs main strength is his contact book and player development, he's contacts at Brighton and around the south coast have found us some gems that over time he has developed. how that skill transfers to York in a relegations battle with limited time to develop young talent is the main reason why I'm surprised by this appointment. I wish Hinch all the luck in the World but my head tells me this wont go well, I personally think its the wrong club for him, he needs a southern based club with plenty of time to develop the youth set up and use his contacts. I hope im wrong and succeeds at York but I just don't see it I'm afraid Thanks for the memories and he will ALWAYS be welcome at Woodside!

Front foot attacking football, dynamic positions, multiple formation changes in a game. Think de Zerbi's Brighton on acid. Adam is the greatest manager in our history, he is beloved here and will never be anything other than a hero here at Worthing. The only cauldron of hate will be at your place if you don't look after him for us. Only a couple of hours on a fast train from Kings Cross, right?

According to their forum it sounds like a done deal. He’s obviously been offered a shed load in wages. Aside from the family issues which are in themselves a massive consideration it’s a great opportunity for him. If he keeps them up he’ll be able to rebuild for next season and put his stamp on their style of play. If it all goes belly up there will be plenty of non league clubs down this way more than willing to take him on.

Totally bizarre move imo . Can't see it lasting more than a year tops . Can tell our friend from York Hinch s brand of tippy tippy football out from the back will get them relegated . Nice place to live though ! 😷😷😷

Be astounded if Hinsh jumps ship now - totally wrong time and place. At the very least, wait until the end of the season and check what's available then. Wasn't he in the running for the Notts County job ? The way their new bloke has started, that could be available again by the summer eg. And 'cauldron of hate!' Not a phrase readily associated with Worthing.....

Wouldn't blame him for taking a look to see what they can offer him, I'd raise an eyebrow though if he concluded the grass/4G would be greener there presently 😳

Although I wasn't there on Saturday, maybe this explains the flat performance if rumours were circulating the team? Agree with much of what has been said, it's taken him years to build the culture and infrastructure here which won't quickly transfer to a faded Northern giant.........but if someone offers you a wheelbarrow full of cash, and you're ambitious then what do you do? A bit more patience from Hinsh would have yielded a similar club down here as has been said.

the cauldron comment was tongue in cheek, don't worry guys. I am sure you'd be supportive were there to be a return.

Oh, there would be a return alright, probably sooner rather than later... unless you give him a five year contract, a written guarantee he'll keep his job when you are relegated and a blank cheque to fund the relocation of anyone and everyone from his totally Southern based contact list. His contract settlement won't be cheap for you either. You need a firefighter and Hinsh is a slow burn development guy. Defence is really not his strong point... a huge risk for you. You are looking for someone to settle a floundering ship, Hinsh won't change his approach though, he'll put two outboard motors on it and drop the throttle. From our side of things I'm much more relaxed than I thought I'd be about it. Our job, if it comes up, will be a huge draw for candidates and maybe a fresh pair of eyes with a talented young squad needn't be a bad thing. Cest la vie 🤷🏻

Who do we think the club will get in to replace Adam? Guessing he will have to be bought out of his contract by York so presumably we will have a bit of compensation money to use on a replacement. Will he take any of the coaching team with him I wonder. Regardless of what happens it’s been an absolute joy to watch these last few seasons, we’ve been throughly entertained.

I meant more in the sense of when you come up and we're still here to play you. or it could go horribly wrong and our 29 year old chairman could sack him and he returns to you. either way, it's the friends you make along the way.
